Understanding author choices in the current conservation publishing landscape. [PDF]

open access: yesConserv Biol
Abstract Conservation literature addresses a broad spectrum of interdisciplinary questions and benefits. Conservation science benefits most when a diverse range of authors are represented, particularly those from countries where much conservation work is focused.

Effects of snake fungal disease (ophidiomycosis) on the skin microbiome across two major experimental scales. [PDF]

open access: yesConserv Biol
Abstract Emerging infectious diseases are increasingly recognized as a significant threat to global biodiversity conservation. Elucidating the relationship between pathogens and the host microbiome could lead to novel approaches for mitigating disease impacts.

Abundant top predators increase species interaction network complexity in northeastern Chinese forests. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Anim Ecol
Our study reveals how top predators influence mammalian interaction networks by increasing complexity and redistributing interactions through indirect effects. These findings imply the important role of top predators in structuring communities, offering novel insights into the conservation and management of mammal communities in northeastern China ...

Evaluating models of expert judgment to inform assessment of ecosystem viability and collapse. [PDF]

open access: yesConserv Biol
Abstract Expert judgment underpins assessment of threatened ecosystems. However, experts are often narrowly defined, and variability in their judgments may be substantial. Models built from structured elicitation with large diverse expert panels can contribute to more consistent and transparent decision‐making.

Vegetation characteristics of habitats used by Elliot's pheasant(白颈长尾雉栖息地的植被特征研究)

open access: yesZhejiang Daxue xuebao. Lixue ban, 2001

Predicting Spatial Distributions of Mammalian Predation on Translocated Wild Turkeys in Agriculturally Dominated Landscapes

open access: yesWildlife Letters, EarlyView.
The edge densities of cropland, developed land, and water bodies (panel a) predict the spatial probability of mammalian predation on wild turkeys (panel b) using Mahalanobis distance factor analysis in Quitman County, Mississippi, United States. The three habitat fragmentation variables are represented by three arrows, respectively.

Studies on the factors affecting patch use degree by Elliot's pheasant(白颈长尾雉栖息地小区利用度影响因子研究)

open access: yesZhejiang Daxue xuebao. Lixue ban, 2002

Incorporating cyclone risk in the design of marine protected and conserved areas as an ecosystem‐based adaptation approach

open access: yesConservation Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Marine protected and conserved areas (MPCAs) are promoted as an ecosystem‐based adaptation (EbA) approach to increase community and ecosystem resilience to climate change. However, traditional approaches to MPCA design typically do not consider climate risk or habitat condition under a climate threat.
