Intact coastal nursery rearing amid climate‐driven phenological shifts in threatened salmon

open access: yesConservation Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Literature linking phenology to climate has proliferated in recent decades and shows that climate change has reorganized seasonal opportunities worldwide. However, this literature often quantifies changes in point measures of timing (e.g., beginnings and peaks) without context about duration (e.g., rearing season length) or performance (e.g ...

Pollution and Haunted Eco‐Histories: Silent Hill and Silent Horrors in Centralia, Pennsylvania

open access: yesPopular Culture Review, Volume 37, Issue 2, December 2026.
ABSTRACT Centralia is a former mining town and borough in Northeastern Pennsylvania, whose population has been steadily declining since the Mine Fire of 1962—a fire that still burns today. The “horrors” of living in Centralia are reflected in horror media set in postindustrial mining towns like Silent Hill.

“The Land's Been Queer Longer Than the Colonizers Have Been Here. Hiy Hiy.” Impacts of Anti‐Queer and Trans Policies and Resistance Through Art, Queer Joy, and Worldmaking Among Youth

open access: yesSexuality, Gender &Policy, Volume 9, Issue 4, November 2026.
ABSTRACT This study explores how 2SLGBTQ+ youth in Alberta, Canada—the country's most Conservative province—mobilize queer joy as a form of resistance amid rising anti‐queer and anti‐trans policies under a settler colonial, cisheteropatriarchal regime. Drawing from youth‐produced collages, we demonstrate that this visual arts‐based participatory method

Effect of surrounding flow on tropical cyclone unusual motion over East China Sea(环境环流变化对东海热带气旋路径折向的影响)

open access: yesZhejiang Daxue xuebao. Lixue ban, 2005

Environmental Justice in the Brazilian Coastal Food Systems: Policies, Institutions, and Knowledges on Small‐Scale Fishers and Energy Development

open access: yesWorld Food Policy, Volume 12, Issue 2, November 2026.
ABSTRACT This study explores environmental justice issues in coastal food systems, focusing on conflicts between small‐scale fisheries and the energy sector due to differing goals in managing food and energy sources. It does so by examining the interdependence between institutions, policies, and different types of knowledge; key elements in building ...

Adding the Farmer Domain to Aquifer Recharge: Insights From Smallholder Farmers' Natural Water Retention Measures in the Danube–Tisza Interfluve, Hungary

open access: yesWorld Water Policy, Volume 12, Issue 4, November 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper describes and analyzes recharge practices in Bács‐Kiskun County, Hungary, within what can be categorized as the farmer domain. Such locally embedded aquifer recharge practices remain underexplored in Hungary. Current research and funding largely focus on large‐scale Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) interventions emphasizing intended ...

Æ E Æ Å – Reshaping the Role of Træna Fishermen

open access: yes, 2022
This diploma project aims to strengthen the viability of Træna’s community by proposing an ocean research facility in the archipelago, enabling the next generation of local fishermen to collect oceanographic data while working at sea. The idea of the fisherman as oceanographer is inextricably linked to the architectural program on the island of ...
