Abstract This study aimed to evaluate household's willingness to pay (WTOP) for irrigation water use (IWU) per timad (0.25 ha) of the irrigable land per year and to analyze determinants of WTOP for IWU at individual households based on the contingent valuation method (CVM).

Abstract The focus on irrigation infrastructure development in countries like India, including a significant allocation of the government's budget, highlights the importance of achieving a high benefit–cost ratio for these projects. However, past reviews have revealed instances where irrigation projects yielded low benefits.

Geospatial data and web based tools for managing irrigation infrastructure expansion projects
Abstract Improving irrigation infrastructure is important for sustaining food security in developing countries like India. The irrigation potential of a system is estimated at the planning phase using conventional approaches. A mismatch in the irrigation potential planned to be created and the land suitable for cultivation can lead to a gap in the ...

SE‐Former: Incorporating sentence embeddings into Transformer for low‐resource NMT
To leverage SimCSE for low‐resource NMT, in this work incorporating sentence embeddings from SimCSE into the Transformer network is explored and SE‐Former model is proposed. In this model an embed‐fusion module is designed to utilize the output of SimCSE for NMT.

Hydro‐Insurgency: Weaponization of Water Resources and Infrastructure in Northeast Syria
ABSTRACT This article examines the strategic weaponization of water resources by Turkey‐backed armed groups in Northeast Syria (NES) within the broader context of the Syrian civil war. As the conflict evolved, water infrastructure—dams, rivers, and irrigation systems—became central to warfare, governance, and foreign agendas. The article introduces the

ABSTRACT Groundwater governance is complex due to several externalities associated with groundwater being an invisible natural resource tied to the land with millions of extractors and limited means of exclusion. The paper traces the evolution of groundwater irrigation in India and the corresponding change in groundwater laws and policies to address ...

Regional Comparison on Farmers’ Willingness of Cooperation for Rural Irrigation and Its Influencing Factors [PDF]
