Disentangling complex relationships and disjunctions in western Camassia: Integrating multiple criteria to resolve taxonomic boundaries

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, Volume 112, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract Premise Understanding genetic and morphological variability helps efforts to sustain landscapes and develop effective species concepts for resolving difficult groups. To unravel puzzling relationships and range disjunctions, we applied morphometrics, phenology, phylogenetics and population genetics in Camassia species with cultural, ecological,

Threshold responses of floating meadow fish communities to floodplain forest cover in the lower Amazon River

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 39, Issue 6, December 2025.
Abstract Forest cover is positively associated with fish biomass and fisheries yield in the Amazon River floodplain, and many species enter flooded forests to feed, spawn, or seek refuge from predation. Floating macrophyte beds, known as floating meadows, in Amazon floodplains support high fish diversity and serve as nursery habitat for many fishes of ...

Dissimilar climatic niche is predictive of contrasting historical demographic changes and altitudinal shifts in related oak species (Quercus)

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, Volume 112, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract Premise Comparative surveys allow us to characterize the influence of specific factors on population genetic diversity and structure. We conducted a comparative phylogeographic study for three Mexican oak species to identify how their climatic niche preferences and breadth may have influenced historical demography and range shifts during ...

Aridity and grazing are associated with reduced trait complementarity and higher invasion intensity of Solanum rostratum in native plant communities

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, Volume 39, Issue 11, Page 3255-3268, November 2025.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract The biotic resistance hypothesis (BRH) of Elton posits that diverse communities are more resistant to biological invasions. While the effects of climatic stresses and human disturbances on community invasibility have been extensively studied individually, their combined

红外热像扫描技术在组织工程皮肤移植修复中的应用

open access: yesZhongguo shiyan zhenduanxue, 2004

Unlocking grass leaf development: foundations for tunable cereal design

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 248, Issue 4, Page 1655-1676, November 2025.
Summary The grass leaf plays a critical role in global food security, generating the carbon stores in cereal grains, which provide > 50% of global calories. As the global population grows, there is an urgent need to increase food production using fewer resources and to develop more resilient agricultural systems to withstand variable climate conditions

Deciphering fire tolerance of trees at the Amazonia–Cerrado transition by trait‐based approach: Implications from species to communities

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, Volume 112, Issue 10, October 2025.
Abstract Premise Understanding how fire impacts trees is essential for predicting the effects of novel fire regimes on plant diversity in the transition between the world's two most diverse biomes, the Cerrado and the Amazonia. Here we addressed knowledge gaps regarding physiological damage and mortality in transitional species within fire‐prone ...

Reproductive outcome after frozen embryo transfer with hormone replacement therapy according to luteal‐phase support protocol: systematic review and network meta‐analysis of randomized controlled trials

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, Volume 66, Issue 4, Page 422-432, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Objective To compare reproductive outcome between luteal‐phase support (LPS) protocols for frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycles with hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Methods A search was conducted in MEDLINE, Scopus, LILACS, EMBASE, Scielo.br, PROSPERO, CINAHL, PsycINFO, AMED, ClinicalTrials.gov, ICTRP, the Cochrane Library and conference ...

炎症介质与肺移植缺血再灌注损伤

open access: yesZhongguo shiyan zhenduanxue, 2012

Using online reports of seahorse seizures to track their illegal trade

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 39, Issue 5, October 2025.
Abstract Illegal wildlife trade (IWT) is a persistent and extensive threat to global biodiversity. Hundreds of marine fish species are subject to regulation under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), but it is unclear how much protection species gain from CITES because information on marine fish ...
