Leaf C:P ratio as a universal indicator of photosynthesis in subtropical woody species: Stoichiometric thresholds and metabolic trade‐offs

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, Volume 40, Issue 7, Page 2332-2344, July 2026.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract The stoichiometric ratios of carbon (C), nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) serve as important indicators for assessing nutrient balance in forest ecosystems, but their relationships with photosynthetic dynamics require deeper characterization.

Interventions to Reduce Child Poverty and Its Determinants: A Rapid Overview of Reviews

open access: yesPoverty &Public Policy, Volume 18, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Despite evidence for various child poverty reduction strategies, there is ambiguity regarding the most effective types to inform policy. Thus, we conducted an overview of reviews to systematically identify, appraise, and synthesize interventions for reducing childhood poverty in high‐income country settings.

Home‐Based Versus In‐Hospital Care in Pediatrics: A Systematic Review of Cost‐Effectiveness Studies

open access: yesWorld Medical &Health Policy, Volume 18, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Home‐based care has emerged as a potential alternative to traditional hospital‐based care for children and adolescents worldwide. This systematic review aimed to systematically gather and critically assess the available evidence on the cost‐effectiveness of home‐based versus in‐hospital care for pediatric populations globally.

Representation of obligate groundwater‐dwelling copepod diversity in European protected areas

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 3, June 2026.
Abstract Groundwaters sustain diverse surface ecosystems and are populated by metazoan species, mostly invertebrates, that provide fundamental ecological functions and are often of prominent conservation value due to narrow endemism and high phylogenetic rarity.
