Contribution of hybridization between polar bears and grizzly bears to polar bear extinction

open access: yesWildlife Letters, Volume 1, Issue 4, Page 178-193, December 2023., 2023
Genetic analysis by scientists of hybridization events from 2006 to 2010 indicates one‐directional gene flow from polar bears to grizzly bears. Even if gene flow was later discovered from grizzly bears to polar bears, there is not enough time to allow for significant adaptation to a rapidly changing Arctic environment.

The link between obesity and insulin resistance among children: Effects of key metabolites

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes, Volume 15, Issue 12, Page 1020-1028, December 2023., 2023
Highlights Childhood obesity was significantly associated with the increased risk of insulin resistance (IR). There were 12 metabolites co‐associated with childhood obesity and IR, including seven amino acid and five fatty acid metabolites. The combination of body mass index standard deviation score and key metabolites could effectively predict the ...

What is typical: Atypical in young children's attention regulation?: Characterizing the developmental spectrum with the Multidimensional Assessment Profiles—Attention Regulation Infant‐Toddler (MAPS‐AR‐IT) Scale

open access: yesInfant Mental Health Journal: Infancy and Early Childhood, Volume 44, Issue 6, Page 781-793, November 2023., 2023
Abstract While attention dysregulation is a promising early indicator of neurodevelopmental risk, in particular attention‐deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), it is difficult to characterize clinical concern due to its developmental expectability at the transition to toddlerhood.

Immunoglobulin E‐specific allergens against leaf in serum of dogs with clinical features of grass leaf allergy

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 34, Issue 5, Page 393-403, October 2023., 2023
Background – Grass leaf has been suspected to cause immunoglobulin (Ig)E‐mediated immediate hypersensitivity reactions both in humans and in dogs. However, most studies in this area are case control studies without in vitro data showing the involvement of IgE in the reaction.

A Review of micro RNAs changes in T2DM in animals and humans miRNAs

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes, Volume 15, Issue 8, Page 649-664, August 2023., 2023
Highlights MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are overexpressed in inflammation, insulin resistance, and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Many types of miRNAs are changed during the T2DM progression. miRNAs have a potential role as a biomarker in T2DM diagnosis. Abstract Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and its associated complications have become a crucial public ...
