Alleviation of phosphorus rather than nitrogen limitation driven by permafrost and landscape effects on Dahurian larch forests

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, Volume 40, Issue 8, Page 2590-2601, August 2026.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Permafrost thaw is reshaping nutrient dynamics in boreal forests, but its impacts on tree nutrient limitation and functional strategies remain poorly understood. Clarifying these responses is crucial for predicting the response of boreal forests to climate change.

Structured machine learning modeling to support conservation of deep‐sea benthic biodiversity

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 4, August 2026.
Abstract Biodiversity monitoring programs need to deliver accurate, timely, and actionable predictions. To establish a predictive monitoring program for deep‐sea benthos of the Santos Basin, Brazil, we developed a two‐stage structured model that allowed comparison of biodiversity predictions obtained from environmental simulations (2M‐Sim).

Exploring legal‐ and health‐risk messaging to reduce demand for elephant skin

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 4, August 2026.
Abstract Asian elephants (Elephas maximus) are poached for an illegal trade in their skins, which are used in traditional medicine in Africa and Asia. We explored whether messages about the legal and health risks of using elephant skin for medicinal purposes (stomach illness) could reduce such consumption.

Preparation of Highly Bioactive Nanolignin via Dopamine Mannich Modification and Its Synergistic Effects With Zn2+ in PVA Hydrogels

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Lignin is a natural non‐toxic polyphenolic macromolecule, which shows inherent antioxidant and broad‐spectrum antibacterial activities. However, due to the low content and the high bond dissociation energy of phenolic hydroxyl groups (Ar‐O·H), its antioxidant and antibacterial activities are relatively weak, which limits its application as a ...

基于核磁共振技术评价气田采出水对地层的伤害机理

open access: yesGongye shui chuli, 2023

open access: yesGongye shui chuli, 2019

Multi‐Site Chelation Enabled by 3D‐Printed TiO2 Hydrogel Monoliths for Dynamic Ge(IV) Recovery in Fixed Beds

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Germanium is a critical dispersed metal, yet sustainable recovery from dilute solutions is limited by sorbents that are difficult to regenerate and operate in continuous mode. Here, we fabricate a regenerable 3D‐printed hydrogel monolith (3D‐ATO‐GS) by integrating hydroxyl‐rich amorphous TiO2 nanoparticles into an alginate/gelatin scaffold ...

Defect Engineering via Ultrasonic Vibration for Activating High‐Valent Nickel Sites Toward Enhanced Seawater Urea Oxidation Reaction

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Developing high‐efficiency catalysts for the seawater urea oxidation reaction (UOR) is pivotal to advancing hydrogen production via seawater electrolysis. Defect engineering has established itself as a core strategy for regulating catalytic activity.

Synergistic Enhancement of Mechanical and Electrical Properties and Corrosion Resistance of Graphene‐Copper Composites by Accumulative Roll Bonding

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Graphene‐reinforced copper (Gr/Cu) composites have attracted considerable attention because of their potential to achieve a synergistic enhancement of strength, electrical conductivity, and corrosion resistance; however, the poor dispersion of graphene in the Cu matrix remains a key limitation for their further development.

Reconstructing Old Chinese *‐ts Using Han‐Time Material

open access: yesTransactions of the Philological Society, Volume 124, Issue 2, Page 487-512, July 2026.
Abstract Baxter & Sagart (2014b) reconstruct *‐Vt‐s on the basis of Middle Chinese reflexes in ‐jH (from some OC *‐s) coupled with either etymological or graphic connections to words in Middle Chinese ‐t. This approach, while perfectly sound, can suffer from lack of etymological or graphic data, leading to missed reconstructions. Since Old Chinese *‐ts
