Association of glycemic gap with stroke recurrence in patients with ischemic stroke. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Diabetes, 2023
Highlights There was a U‐shaped relationship between glycemic gap and stroke recurrence during a long‐term follow‐up in a Chinese ischemic stroke registry. Clinical physicians should remain vigilant in the fluctuation of glucose level and use individualized glucose control strategies in patients with ischemic stroke.

Modified Delphi study of ultrasound signs associated with placenta accreta spectrum

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, Volume 61, Issue 4, Page 518-525, April 2023., 2023
ABSTRACT Objective To determine, by expert consensus through a modified Delphi process, the role of standardized and new ultrasound signs in the prenatal evaluation of patients at high risk of placenta accreta spectrum (PAS). Methods A systematic review of articles providing information on ultrasound imaging signs or markers associated with PAS was ...

Transparent machine learning suggests a key driver in the decision to start insulin therapy in individuals with type 2 diabetes 透明机器学习预测决定2型糖尿病患者开始胰岛素治疗的关键驱动因素

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes, Volume 15, Issue 3, Page 224-236, March 2023., 2023
HighlightsML suggests that when the HbA1c gap from a previous visit is >11 mmol/mol (1.0%) there is a greater probability that insulin therapy will be initiated, but when HbA1c gap is <6.6 mmol/mol (0.6%), a timely initiation of insulin therapy is less probable.

A comparison of the stress hyperglycemia ratio, glycemic gap, and glucose to assess the impact of stress‐induced hyperglycemia on ischemic stroke outcome 比较应激性高血糖比率, 血糖间隙和葡萄糖评估应激性高血糖对缺血性卒中预后的影响

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes, Volume 13, Issue 12, Page 1034-1042, December 2021., 2021
Highlights The impact of stress‐induced hyperglycemia on outcome is poorly reflected by absolute glucose levels. The stress hyperglycemia ratio (SHR) biomarker discriminates between interpatient variation in normal premorbid background glycemia related to glycosylated hemoglobin and the acute relative increase in glucose related to physiological stress

Matching expert range maps with species distribution model predictions

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 34, Issue 5, Page 1292-1304, October 2020., 2020
Abstract Species’ range maps based on expert opinion are a critical resource for conservation planning. Expert maps are usually accompanied by species descriptions that specify sources of internal range heterogeneity, such as habitat associations, but these are rarely considered when using expert maps for analyses.

Drivers of plant traits that allow survival in wetlands

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, Volume 34, Issue 5, Page 956-967, May 2020., 2020
A free Plain Language Summary can be found within the Supporting Information of this article. Abstract Plants have developed a suite of traits to survive the anaerobic and anoxic soil conditions in wetlands. Previous studies on wetland plant adaptive traits have focused mainly on physiological aspects under experimental conditions, or compared the ...

Multifunctionality of Magnetic La(Fe, Si/Al)13‐Based Materials: Negative Thermal Expansion and Magnetocaloric Effect

open access: yesRare Metals, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In recent years, the field of magnetic materials has witnessed a paradigm shift from single‐function applications to multifunctional integration, driven by the growing demand for smart materials in advanced technologies. Among various magnetic systems, La(Fe, Si/Al)13‐series materials have emerged as particularly promising candidates due to ...

Laser‐Driven Halide Exchange and High‐Resolution Multicolor Patterning of Perovskite Films

open access: yesRare Metals, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Translating the excellent properties of metal halide perovskites (MHPs) into practical flexible optoelectronic devices requires high‐resolution multicolor patterning techniques that are compatible with post‐fabrication processing. However, such a capability has remained elusive.

Systematic Study of Fermi‐Level Pinning at Crystalline Metal/GaN Interfaces: First‐Principles Calculations and Diode Characterization

open access: yesRare Metals, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Schottky barrier height (SBH), which serves as a pivotal determinant of charge carrier injection efficiency in electronic devices, critically governs electrical behavior at metal/semiconductor interfaces. However, pronounced metal‐induced gap states at metal contact interfaces induce Fermi‐level pinning, which constrains the ...

Different forms of nitrogen contents and their vertical variations of transformation modes of the sediments of Lake Yuehu, Wuhan [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Vertical distributions of nitrogen contents, net nitrification rates, net N-mineralization rates and nitrate reductase activities in sediments of Lake Yuehu in June, 2005, were described on basis of four samples from the lake.
