Assigning trend‐based conservation status despite high uncertainty
Abstract Estimates of temporal trends in species’ occupancy are essential for conservation policy and planning, but limitations to the data and models often result in very high trend uncertainty. A critical source of uncertainty that degrades scientific credibility is that caused by disagreement among studies or models.

Understanding the structure of the Post‐2020 Global Biodiversity Framework. Abstract December 2022 finally saw the historic agreement of the Kunming‐Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KM‐GBF), a landmark framework that sets to halt and reverse global biodiversity loss by remedying the multifaceted drivers behind biodiversity declines around the ...

Climate suitability as a predictor of conservation translocation failure
Abstract The continuing decline and loss of biodiversity has caused an increase in the use of interventionist conservation tools, such as translocation. However, many translocation attempts fail to establish viable populations, with poor release site selection often flagged as an inhibitor of success.

ABSTRACT Aqueous vanadium dioxide (VO2)‐based smart thermal insulation coatings represent a viable strategy to decrease building energy consumption and advance sustainable development goals. However, the inherent instability and limited compatibility with polymer matrices of VO2 hinder its widespread application.

ABSTRACT Ni3S2 has emerged as a promising catalyst for the electrochemical oxidation of biomass‐derived 5‐hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) to 2,5‐furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA), driven by its distinctive physicochemical properties. However, its practical catalytic efficiency is severely hindered by abundant electrochemically inactive surface sites and poor ...

ABSTRACT Internal oxidation has been identified as an effective method for enhancing the strength of AgMg alloys. However, the concurrent occurrence of embrittlement remains inadequately understood, thus limiting their broader application. This study investigates the oxidation behavior of AgMg alloys with Mg concentrations ranging from 1 at% to 7 at ...

Oxidation Performance of NiCoCrAlYTa + 7YSZ Coatings With Ta Addition at Different Temperatures
ABSTRACT This study investigates the morphology and oxidation behavior of thermally grown oxides (TGO) formed at the interface of NiCoCrAlYTa + 7YSZ (7 wt% Y2O3‐stabilized zirconia) coatings deposited by air plasma spray (APS) in air environments at 1050°C, 1100°C, and 1150°C. The enrichment of Ta‐rich oxides beneath the TGO, along with the segregation

Opportunities, research gaps, and risks in allogenic ecosystem engineer mimicry
Abstract In an age of anthropogenically driven species loss and increasingly novel ecosystems, ecosystem engineer restoration is a process‐based approach to supporting ecosystem function. Many ecosystem engineers have low or declining population sizes.
