Massive Gravity: Exorcising the Ghost [PDF]

open access: yesJHEP 1104:004,2011, 2010
We consider Higgs massive gravity [1,2] and investigate whether a nonlinear ghost in this theory can be avoided. We show that although the theory considered in [10,11] is ghost free in the decoupling limit, the ghost nevertheless reappears in the fourth order away from the decoupling limit.

Impact of moisture regimes on yield and soil microbial population in pea (Pisum sativum)

open access: yesThe Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences, 2022
Method of application of irrigation to the crop plays one of the most crucial roles in plant growth, development and overall production of the crop. To study the effect of different types of irrigation methods on the yield of the pea (Pisum sativum L ...

Search for the lightest scalar top quark in R-parity violating decays at the LHC [PDF]

open access: yesJHEP 1110:004,2011, 2011
The scalar partner of the top quark (the stop) is relatively light in many models of supersymmetry breaking. We study the production of stops at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and their subsequent decays through baryon-number violating couplings such that the final state contains no leptons.

PW02-004 - Autoinflammatory syndromes: a clinical review [PDF]

open access: yesPediatric Rheumatology, 2013
Autoinflammatory syndromes are a group of rare conditions that cause intermittent episodes of fever and organ system inflammation. The majority of these conditions have been linked to single gene mutations that are involved in the acute inflammatory response.

Effective field theory for fluids: Hall viscosity from a Wess-Zumino-Witten term [PDF]

open access: yesJHEP 11 (2014) 004, 2014
We propose an effective action that describe a relativistic fluid with Hall viscosity. The construction involves a Wess-Zumino-Witten term that exists only in (2+1) spacetime dimensions. We note that this formalism can accommodate only a Hall viscosity which is a homogeneous function of the entropy and particle number densities of degree one.

A simple solution for marginal deformations in open string field theory [PDF]

open access: yesJHEP 1405:004,2014, 2014
We derive a new open string field theory solution for boundary marginal deformations generated by chiral currents with singular self-OPE. The solution is algebraically identical to the Kiermaier-Okawa-Soler solution and it is gauge equivalent to the Takahashi-Tanimoto identity-based solution.

The Structural Variations of 3C454.3 and 2134+004 [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1984
3C454.3 has a core-jet structure on the milliarcsec scale. Following a flux density outburst, the core showed a “superluminal brightening”. Comparison with older observations suggests superluminal motion in the jet. 2134+004, in contrast, is a double source, with no significant (v/c < 1) relative motion of the components.

Neutrino Physics with Accelerator Driven Subcritical Reactors [PDF]

open access: yesJHEP 1601 (2016) 004, 2015
Accelerator driven system (ADS) subcritical nuclear reactors are under development around the world. They will be intense sources of free, 30-50 MeV antimuon decay at rest antimuon neutrinos. These ADS reactor neutrinos can provide a robust test of the LSND anomaly and a precise measurement of the leptonic CP-violating phase delta, including sign(cos ...
