Risk Factors and Spatial Distribution of Schistosoma mansoni Infection among Preschool-Aged Children in Blapleu, Biankouma District, Western Côte d'Ivoire. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Trop Med, 2021
Schistosoma mansoni infection is common among school‐age children (SAC) in western Côte d’Ivoire. Little is known on the infection rate of preschool‐aged children (PSAC) due to epidemiological data deficiency and nonappropriate formulation of the drug. Thus, mass drug administration for schistosomiasis control mainly targets SAC.

A randomised, double‐blinded, controlled trial to determine the efficacy of combined therapy of oclacitinib and marine oil extract PCSO‐524 in dogs with atopic dermatitis

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 34, Issue 6, Page 523-531, December 2023., 2023
Background – Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) can be beneficial in the management of canine atopic dermatitis (cAD). A commercial product PCSO‐524 containing PUFA has demonstrated anti‐inflammatory effects in dogs. Hypothesis/Objectives – To evaluate the efficacy of PCSO‐524, in combination with oclacitinib in dogs with cAD.

The asymmetric effect of fiscal policy on private consumption and private investment over a business cycle: Evidence from Sub‐Saharan African countries

open access: yesRegional Science Policy &Practice, Volume 15, Issue 6, Page 1147-1162, August 2023., 2023
Abstract This study examines the response of private consumption and private investment to an exogenous shock of fiscal policy and estimates the size of fiscal multipliers during periods of economic slacks and positive output gap. Panel vector autoregressive (VAR) estimation technique is performed on a sample of 18 Sub‐Saharan African (SSA) countries ...

[Retracted] Polyvinylpyrrolidone K‐30‐Based Crosslinked Fast Swelling Nanogels: An Impeccable Approach for Drug’s Solubility Improvement

open access: yesBioMed Research International, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Poor solubility is a global issue of copious pharmaceutical industries as large number of drugs in development stage as well as already marketed products are poorly soluble which results in low dissolution and ultimately dosage increase. Current study is aimed at developing a polyvinylpyrrolidone‐ (PVP‐K30‐) based nanogel delivery system for solubility

Clinical efficacy of spray‐based heat‐treated lactobacilli in canine atopic dermatitis: a preliminary, open‐label, uncontrolled study

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 32, Issue 2, Page 114-e23, April 2021., 2021
Background – Canine atopic dermatitis (cAD) is a common inflammatory and pruritic skin disease, with various treatment options. The use of topical products containing natural ingredients has proven increasingly popular. Objective – To evaluate the effects of a spray solution containing heat‐killed Lactobacillus rhamnosus and L. reuteri, on the clinical

Multiclass Incremental Learning for Fault Diagnosis in Induction Motors Using Fine‐Tuning with a Memory of Exemplars and Nearest Centroid Classifier

open access: yesShock and Vibration, Volume 2021, Issue 1, 2021., 2021
Early detection of fault events through electromechanical systems operation is one of the most attractive and critical data challenges in modern industry. Although these electromechanical systems tend to experiment with typical faults, a common event is that unexpected and unknown faults can be presented during operation.

Pattern recognition on a quantum computer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
By means of a simple example it is demonstrated that the task of finding and identifying certain patterns in an otherwise (macroscopically) unstructured picture (data set) can be accomplished efficiently by a quantum computer. Employing the powerful tool
