A Dynamical Approach to Temperature
We present a new dynamical approach for measuring the temperature of a Hamiltonian dynamical system in the micro canonical ensemble of thermodynamics. We show that under the hypothesis of ergodicity the temperature can be computed as a time-average of ...

Use of a Cytobrush for Sampling the Ear Canal of Dogs With Otitis Externa
Cytological examination of the ear canal is essential for evaluating dogs with otitis externa (OE). The conventional sampling method uses a swab. However, the cytobrush (gynaecological cervical brush), already used for cytological collection from other anatomical sites, has not been adequately investigated for this purpose in dogs with OE.

The extraction of work from quantum coherence
The interplay between quantum-mechanical properties, such as coherence, and classical notions, such as energy, is a subtle topic at the forefront of quantum thermodynamics.

Relativistic ideal Fermi gas at zero temperature and preferred frame
We discuss the limit T->0 of the relativistic ideal Fermi gas of luxons (particles moving with the speed of light) and tachyons (hypothetical particles faster than light) based on observations of our recent paper: K. Kowalski, J.

Background: Gabapentin reportedly decreases central sensitisation, a disorder associated with chronic pruritus in humans, although this is not well documented in cats. Its combined use with the standard antipruritic therapy for feline atopic skin syndrome (FASS) is not yet described.

Scaling relations in equilibrium nonextensive thermostatistics
The forms of Euler and Gibbs-Duhem relations discussed in thermodynamics of extensive systems are shown to hold also for nonextensive systems with long-range interactions with a novel interpretation of entities appearing therein.

Effective Packet Number for 5G IM WeChat Application at Early Stage Traffic Classification
Accurate network traffic classification at early stage is very important for 5G network applications. During the last few years, researchers endeavored hard to propose effective machine learning model for classification of Internet traffic applications at early stage with few packets.

Mesoscopic virial equation for nonequilibrium statistical mechanics
We derive a class of mesoscopic virial equations governing energy partition between conjugate position and momentum variables of individual degrees of freedom.
