Abstract The study identified process development priorities toward the feasible production of five value‐added biochemicals in a sugarcane biorefinery based on achievable bioconversion performances. Multiple process scenarios using A‐molasses as feedstock were simulated in Aspen Plus® via direct microbial conversions.

Fine morphological assessment of quality of human mature oocytes after slow freezing or vitrification with a closed device: a comparative analysis [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Human mature oocytes are very susceptible to cryodamage. Several reports demonstrated that vitrification might preserve oocyte better than slow freezing. However, this is still controversial.

ABSTRACT Multiwall carbon nanotube (NC7000) supported mono‐, bi‐, and trimetallic catalysts were synthesized and tested in a multi‐batch reactor setup supported by data‐driven modeling for the chemical hydrogenolysis of glycerol to 1,2‐Propanediol (1,2‐PDO) at 220°C under 30 bar hydrogen pressure in aqueous solution. ICP‐OES, N2‐physisorption, scanning

Cerebrospinal fluid metabolomics reveals altered waste clearance and accelerated aging in HIV patients with neurocognitive impairment [PDF]
Objective(s): HIV-associated neurocognitive disorders (HAND) remain prevalent in HIV-infected patients on antiretroviral therapy (ART), but the underlying mechanisms are unclear. Some features of HAND resemble those of age-associated cognitive decline in

Alkali metal doping enhanced the catalytic performance of SrTiO3 for glycerol carbonate synthesis. Among the tested catalysts, the 10% Rb‐doped SrTiO3 exhibited the highest catalytic activity. This catalyst could be reused without substantial loss of activity and was applicable to various combinations of diols and alkyl carbonates.

High magnetization aqueous ferrofluid: A simple one-pot synthesis [PDF]
A one-step polyol method was utilized to prepare a stable aqueous iron/iron oxide ferrofluid. The dried powders were characterized by x-ray diffraction, electron microscopy, x-ray absorption spectroscopy, and vibrating sample magnetometry for the ...

Simulated elderly digestion showed markedly lower efficiency than adults. SV processing enhanced peptide release and bioaccessibility, and counteracted the reduced digestive efficiency of the EA model. ABSTRACT This study investigated how gastrointestinal (GI) changes in elderly achlorhydria individuals (EA) affect protein digestibility and peptide ...
