Insights for Indigenous employment into a case study of unconscious bias in the Australian Public Service

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, Volume 57, Issue 4, Page 898-919, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Drawing on a case study of unconscious bias levels in the Australian Public Service (APS), findings suggest gender equality remains a concern for career prospects for women, particularly for Indigenous women when two‐thirds of Indigenous employees in the APS are women.

Examining inequalities in access to delivery by caesarean section in Nigeria.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
BackgroundMaternal deaths are far too common in Nigeria, and this is in part due to lack of access to lifesaving emergency obstetric care, especially among women in the poorest strata in Nigeria.

Weissler and Bernoulli type inequalities in Bergman spaces [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
We consider Weissler type inequalities for Bergman spaces with general radial weights and give conditions on the weight $w$ in terms of its moments ensuring that $\|f_r\|_{A^{2n}(w)}\leq \|f\|_{A^2(w)}$ whenever $n\in \mathbb{N}$ and $0< r\le 1/\sqrt{n}$.

Implications of Teleportation for Nonlocality

open access: yes, 2002
Adopting an approach similar to that of Zukowski [Phys. Rev. A 62, 032101 (2000)], we investigate connections between teleportation and nonlocality. We derive a Bell-type inequality pertaining to the teleportation scenario and show that it is violated in

A Novel Simulation Approach for Damage Evolution during Tailored Forming

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Traditional damage models are struggling to accurately and efficiently simulate large‐scale three‐dimensional models with a great number of degrees of freedoms. A new gradient‐enhanced damage model based on the extended Hamilton principle can significantly reduce the computation time while ensuring mesh‐independence which is suitable to use in tailored

Understanding the dynamics of support seeking in women with lived experience of non‐physical intimate partner violence (IPV) and the service responses—A qualitative study

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, Volume 57, Issue 4, Page 861-879, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Non‐physical abuse is a form of intimate partner violence (IPV), which negatively impacts physical and mental well‐being. The study objectives were to understand the process of support seeking amongst women who experience non‐physical IPV. Interviews were conducted with women who have experience of non‐physical IPV and support workers.

On the Quantum Kolmogorov Complexity of Classical Strings

open access: yes, 2009
We show that classical and quantum Kolmogorov complexity of binary strings agree up to an additive constant. Both complexities are defined as the minimal length of any (classical resp. quantum) computer program that outputs the corresponding string. It

Numerical and Experimental Study of High‐Speed Laser Cutting of Copper Current Collectors: Process Optimization for Quality Assessment

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study employs a CFD model to simulate laser cutting of copper current collectors used for Li‐Ion battery production. This model predicts cut edge quality by assessing the influence of power, scanner speed, and foil thickness. Defects are classified and an optimal working area is found.
