QTL mapping of 1000-kernel weight, kernel length, and kernel width in bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

open access: closedJournal of Applied Genetics, 2010
Kernel size and morphology influence the market value and milling yield of bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). The objective of this study was to identify quantitative trait loci (QTLs) controlling kernel traits in hexaploid wheat. We recorded 1000-kernel weight, kernel length, and kernel width for 185 recombinant inbred lines from the cross Rye ...

VARIETAL DIFFERENCES IN BARLEYS AND MALTS: IV. COMMONLY MEASURED PROPERTIES AND THEIR CORRELATIONS WITH NITROGEN AND 1000-KERNEL WEIGHT [PDF]

open access: closedCanadian Journal of Research, 1938
Samples representing 12 varieties of barley grown at 12 widely separated experimental stations in Canada were malted and subsequently analyzed. Varietal differences were found in steeping rate, malting loss, sprouts, extract, wort nitrogen and diastatic activity.O.A.C. 21 and Mensury, varieties which Canadian maltsters prefer, gave high values for all

Large‐scale breeding population validating significant loci for the 1000‐kernel weight of wheat

open access: closedCrop Science
AbstractAs an important component of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) yield, 1000‐kernel weight (TKW) has played a crucial role in yield improvement in recent decades. Marker‐assisted selection is an effective tool for improving quantitative traits; however, most markers have not been effectively applied in TKW improvement despite the identification of ...

Inheritance of plant height, tiller number per plant, spike height and 1000-kernel weight in a 8×8 diallel cross population of bread wheat

open access: closedCereal Research Communications, 2006
The inheritance of plant height, tiller number per plant, spike height and 1000-kernel weight was studied using a Jinks-Hayman diallel analysis in a 8×8 wheat ( Triticum aestivum L.) cross population with the following bread wheat cultivars: Cumhuriyet (1), Kasifbey (2), Ziyabey (3), Marmara (4), Basribey (5), Malabadi (6), Yuregir (7) and Seri-82 (8).

VARIETAL DIFFERENCES IN BARLEYS AND MALTS: IX. CARBOHYDRATE FRACTIONS OF BARLEY AND THEIR CORRELATIONS WITH TOTAL NITROGEN AND 1000-KERNEL WEIGHT

open access: closedCanadian Journal of Research, 1940
Samples of 12 varieties of barley from 12 experimental stations in Canada were analysed for starch, barley extract, and crude cellulose plus lignin. Nine six-rowed varieties averaged 3.4% lower in starch, 3.7% lower in extract, and 1.4% higher in cellulose plus lignin than three two-rowed varieties.

Stability and plasticity of grain weight per spike, 1000-kernel weight and yield of mid-high and semi-dwarf genotypes of winter bread wheat

open access: closedGenetičnì resursi roslin (Plant Genetic Resources), 2019
Aim. To determine the stability and plasticity of the grain weight per spike, 1000-kernel weight and yield of mid-high and semi-dwarf winter bread wheat accessions. Results and Discussion. We determined the stability and plasticity of the grain weight per spike, 1000-kernel weight and yield of mid-high and semi-dwarf winter bread wheat accessions.

Изменчивость и характер наследования массы 1000 зерен в диаллельных скрещиваниях пшеницы мягкой яровой

2019
The aim of the research was to study variability and inheritance of 1000-kernel weight in a system of diallel crosses of common spring wheat (Triticumaestivum L.) depending on genotypes and environments. The experiments were carried out in 2015-2016 years.
