Effect of weight of seed upon the resulting crop

open access: yes, 1923
Summary. 1 Field experiments, especially in America, nave indicated that, with annual plants at least, better crops are usually obtained by the use of heavy seed in preference to light, whether equal numbers of bushels or equal numbers of seeds are sown ...

EFFECT OF NITROGEN FERTILIZATION AND ORGANIC ACIDS ON GRAINS PRODUCTIVITY AND BIOCHEMICAL CONTENTS OF QUINOA PLANT GROWN UNDER SOIL CONDITIONS OF RAS SADER-SINAI [PDF]

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Desert Research, 2017
A field experiment was carried out at Ras Suder Research Station (located at 29º 32' 28" N and 32º 39' 25'' E) throughout  two seasons, i.e., 2014 and 2015 (saline soil of 8.56 dS m-1, soil  paste extract) and irrigated with water of 7.94 dS m-1  on ...

Salinity effects on yield, yield components and nutrient ions in rapeseed genotypes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Sciences (Belgrade), 2012
Soil salinity is a major restriction to crop production in many areas of the world. Seven spring types of rapeseed genotypes were evaluated in four salinity levels of irrigation water including 0, 4, 8 and 12 dsm-1.

DEFINING THE SEED FIBER RESIDUE AND WEIGHT OF 1000 SEEDS IN COTTON VARIETIES

open access: yes, 2023
One of the important problems in cotton breeding is the creation of high-yielding, fast-maturing varieties with high fiber yield and quality and their wide use in production. In the world, the cotton plant occupies a key place in the world textile industry.

FIELD PEA (PISUM SATIVUM L.) BIOMASS PRODUCTION DEPENDED ON SEED AGE AND AGROECOLOGICAL GROWTH CONDITIONS [PDF]

open access: yesPoljoprivreda, 2006
Influence of weather conditions and seed age on fresh and dry biomass production, field germination, seed yield and 1000 seed weight of field pea were investigated in field trials during two years at two locations of East Croatia (Osijek and Vinkovci ...

Investigation of Correlation between Traits and Path Analysis of Confectionary Sunflower Genotypes

open access: yesNotulae Botanicae Horti Agrobotanici Cluj-Napoca, 2014
. This study examined the relationships between various traits associated with seed and crude protein yields of confectionary sunflower as well as the direct and indirect effects of these traits on crude protein yield. Eight open-pollinated confectionary

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Trend analysis in 1000 seed weight testing using a counter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Praćenje i kontrola rada laboratorijske opreme je jedan od zahteva standarda za laboratorije za ispitivanje semena. Period i način kontrole zavise od učestalosti korišćenja opreme, njene strarosti itd.

Character association and path coefficient analysis for grain yield and yield components in finger millet (Eleusine coracana (L.) Gaertn.) [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2015
An investigation was carried out to assess the character association and the magnitude of direct and indirect effects of yield component traits on grain yield of finger millet for 11 characters viz., days to 50% flowering, days to maturity, plant height (
