E$^3$-UAV: An Edge-based Energy-Efficient Object Detection System for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles [PDF]
Motivated by the advances in deep learning techniques, the application of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)-based object detection has proliferated across a range of fields, including vehicle counting, fire detection, and city monitoring. While most existing research studies only a subset of the challenges inherent to UAV-based object detection, there are ...

Factors modulating 99mTc‐MAA planar lung dosimetry for 90Y radioembolization
Abstract Purpose To investigate the accuracy and biases of predicted lung shunt fraction (LSF) and lung dose (LD) calculations via 99mTc‐macro‐aggregated albumin (99mTc‐MAA) planar imaging for treatment planning of 90Y‐microsphere radioembolization.

Abstract Positron emission tomography with x‐ray computed tomography (PET/CT) is increasingly being utilized for radiation treatment planning (RTP). Accurate delivery of RT therefore depends on quality PET/CT data. This study covers quality control (QC) procedures required for PET/CT for diagnostic imaging and incremental QC required for RTP.

Bounded Rationality and Animal Spirits: A Fluctuation-Response Approach to Slutsky Matrices [PDF]
The Slutsky equation, central in consumer choice theory, is derived from the usual hypotheses underlying most standard models in Economics, such as full rationality, homogeneity, and absence of interactions. We present a statistical physics framework that allows us to relax such assumptions.

Towards Energy Consumption and Carbon Footprint Testing for AI-driven IoT Services [PDF]
Energy consumption and carbon emissions are expected to be crucial factors for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Both the scale and the geo-distribution keep increasing, while Artificial Intelligence (AI) further penetrates the "edge" in order to satisfy the need for highly-responsive and intelligent services.

Consumption Partial Insurance in the Presence of Tail Income Risk [PDF]
We measure the extent of consumption insurance to income shocks accounting for high-order moments of the income distribution. We derive a nonlinear consumption function, in which the extent of insurance varies with the sign and magnitude of income shocks. Using PSID data, we estimate an asymmetric pass-through of bad versus good permanent shocks -- 17%

Reaction or Speculation: Building Computational Support for Users in Catching-Up Series Based on an Emerging Media Consumption Phenomenon [PDF]
A growing number of people are using catch-up TV services rather than watching simultaneously with other audience members at the time of broadcast. However, computational support for such catching-up users has not been well explored. In particular, we are observing an emerging phenomenon in online media consumption experiences in which speculation ...

Game Design and Analysis for Price based Demand Response: An Aggregate Game Approach [PDF]
In this paper, an aggregate game approach is proposed for the modeling and analysis of energy consumption control in smart grid. Since the electricity user's cost function depends on the aggregate load, which is unknown to the end users, an aggregate load estimator is employed to estimate it.

Coherence as resource in scattering quantum walk search on complete graph [PDF]
We investigate the behavior of coherence in scattering quantum walk search on complete graph under the condition that the total number of vertices of the graph is greatly larger than the marked number of vertices we are searching, $N \gg v$. We find that the consumption of coherence represents the increase of the success probability for the searching ...

Characteristics of the Kelch domain containing (KLHDC) subfamily and relationships with diseases
The Kelch protein superfamily includes 63 members, with the KLHDC subfamily having 10 proteins. While their functions are not fully understood, recent advances in KLHDC2's structure and role in protein degradation have highlighted its potential for drug development, especially in PROTAC therapies.
