Liquid Metals as Initiators of Free‐Radical Polymerization of Hydrogels: A Perspective

Advanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Gallium‐based liquid metals initiate free radical polymerization to form hydrogels without the use of toxic molecular initiators. In addition to initiating polymerization, they can act as crosslinkers, yielding softer, more extensible, and tougher hydrogels than those formed with conventional initiators.

PbCrO4/Pb Hybrid with Surface Unsaturated Metal Sites for Efficient CO2‐to‐Formate Reduction

An in‐operando electrochemically synthesized Vo‐rich PbCrO4/Pb hybrid exposes abundant unsaturated metal sites on PbCrO4 surface, which facilitates CO2 activation and stability of *OCHO intermediates. Unveiling Aggregation‐Induced Singlet Fission in Push–Pull Diketopyrrolopyrrole Water Dispersed Nanoaggregates and Thin Films

Aggregates of diketopyrrolopyrrole dipolar and quadrupolar systems exhibit panchromatic absorption spectra extending in the entire visible range. Upon aggregation in water and in the solid state, their fluorescence is almost completely quenched and their singlet excited state lifetime is significantly shortened.
