Prmt6 Deficiency or Inhibition Restores Microglial Homeostasis and Promotes Scar‐Limited Repair in Adult Spinal Cord Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
After spinal cord injury, adult microglia remain persistently activated with chronic PRMT6 (protein arginine methyltransferase 6) upregulation. Prmt6 deficiency or inhibition reestablishes microglial homeostasis and promotes a scar‐limited repairment, enhancing axonal regrowth.

Mechanosensitive Piezo1/Osteocalcin/Irisin Axis Protects Against Disuse‐Induced Muscle Atrophy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanical unloading suppresses bone Piezo1 expression, which reduces circulating undercarboxylated osteocalcin (unOCN). unOCN reduction subsequently exacerbates IMM‐induced Fndc5/Irisin decrease and drives severe muscle atrophy. Bone Piezo1 activation or exogenous osteocalcin/Irisin ameliorate muscle atrophy, while muscle‐specific Gprc6a or Fndc5 ...

Ribosome Shut-Down by 16S rRNA Fragmentation in Stationary-Phase Escherichia coli

open access: yes, 2016
Stationary-phase bacterial cells are characterized by vastly reduced metabolic activities yielding a dormant-like phenotype. Several hibernation programs ensure the establishment and maintenance of this resting growth state.

16S rRNA Methyltransferase RmtC in Salmonella enterica Serovar Virchow

open access: yes, 2010
We screened Salmonella and Escherichia coli isolates, collected 2004–2008 in the United Kingdom, for 16S rRNA methyltransferases. rmtC was identified in S. enterica serovar Virchow isolates from clinical samples and food.

Intestinal Source Control of Lipid Metabolism by Enzyme‐Probiotic Encapsulated, Spatiotemporal Crosslinked, and Small Intestine‐Adhesive Hydrogel Microspheres

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A thiol‐modified alginate hydrogel microsphere‐encapsulated enzyme‐probiotic biohybrid (AKK‐COD) system has been developed to address the spatiotemporal delivery and colonization challenges of small intestine‐targeted probiotic for lipid metabolism regulation. The system exerts sequential functions of intragastric protection, small intestinal adhesion,

Charakterisierung eines Protein:RNA-Komplexes : die Funktion von ribosomal binding factor A

open access: yes, 2007
In this thesis the three dimensional solution strucutre of the RbfA protein from Thermotoga maritima was solved using multidimensional heteronuclear NMR spectroscopy. The RbfA protein binds to the helix I region of the 16S rRNA. To gain insights into the

Multiscale Architecture and Mechanics of the Cell Nucleus: Implications for Disease, Bioengineering and Nanomedicine

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nuclear mechanical properties are inherently scale‐dependent, arising from a hierarchical architecture that spans DNA, chromatin, the nuclear envelope, and condensates. Experimental techniques and theoretical models are integrated into a cohesive multiscale framework linking nanoscale structural features to organelle‐level mechanical behavior.
