T2T Genome Assembly and Multi‐Omics Data Reveal Terrestrial Adaptation and Mucus Biosynthesis in Tropical Leatherleaf Slug (Laevicaulis alte)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A gap‐free genome assembly and multi‐omics comparison of the terrestrial slug Laevichaulis alte with an aquatic relative reveal that expansion of the VEGF family orchestrates mucus production, lipid metabolism, and immune defense—highlighting key molecular innovations for conquering life on land.

The Physiological and Ecological Characterisation of the First Cultivated Species of the Candidate Division OP10

open access: yes, 2010
Bacteria are one of the three taxonomic domains and play a major role in the biological processes on Earth, yet their taxonomy and constituent species are poorly understood.

16S rRNA Library Preparation and Sequencing

open access: yes
Abstract This chapter describes the targeting of the prokaryotic 16S ribosomal RNA gene (16S rRNA) using both short-read Illumina Sequencing and long-read Nanopore Sequencing. 16S rRNA targets can be present in multiple copies across the genome and are another consideration when trying to quantitatively determine the proportion of ...

NAD+ Metabolism Licenses Zygotic Genome Activation via PARP7‐Mediated ADP‐Ribosylation of UHRF1 in Mouse Early Embryos

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers a metabolic‐epigenetic axis licensing zygotic genome activation (ZGA) in mouse embryos. A developmental decline in NAD+ levels activates PARP7, which mono‐ADP‐ribosylates and stabilizes UHRF1. This modification promotes the establishment of permissive histone acetylation marks, thereby facilitating timely ZGA.

Radiation‐Induced Tumor‐Intrinsic LTβR N‐Glycosylation Suppresses Pyroptosis Through TRIM28‐Mediated PCBP2 SUMOylation to Promote Gastric Cancer Radioresistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy triggers LTβR N‐glycosylation, enhancing its overall protein stability and nuclear retention. This accumulation drives TRIM28‐mediated PCBP2 SUMOylation, suppressing pyroptosis and conferring gastric cancer radioresistance. Therapeutically, a targeted nanoplatform (cRGD‐Lipo@EMD) effectively disrupts this regulatory axis, offering a highly

Targeting Lipopolysaccharide Transport Induces Membrane Lipid Remodeling and Sensitizes Acinetobacter baumannii to Colistin Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies C4 as a lead inhibitor of the Lpt system. Notably, C4 potentiates colistin activity by disrupting LPS transport and remodeling phospholipid homeostasis, revealing a functional interplay between the Lpt and Mla systems. These findings establish a mechanistic link between Lpt inhibition and membrane lipid remodeling, positioning Lpt–
