Binder Jetting - Reusability Of 17-4 PH Stainless Steel Powder

World PM2022 Proceedings, 2022
Binder Jetting (BJT) is a binder-based Additive Manufacturing technology, where only a small fraction of the processed powder is bonded inside the green parts after printing. Unbound powder, which is recovered during the BJT process, is reused for printing.

Aging reactions in a 17-4 PH stainless steel

Materials Chemistry and Physics, 2002
Abstract Microstructural development and aging reactions in a commercial 17-4 PH (precipitation hardening) stainless steel have been investigated. It is found that after solution treatment, the steel produces a uniform matrix, which consists chiefly of lath martensite with micro-twins.

Kinetics of precipitation in 17–4 PH stainless steel

Materials Science and Technology, 1989
AbstractThe sequence of precipitation and its kinetics in 17–4 PH (precipitation hardening) stainless steel were studied by observing the electrical resistivity and microstructure of the alloy during isothermal aging at various temperatures in the range 320–600°C.

Aging kinetics of 17-4 PH stainless steel

Materials Chemistry and Physics, 2009
Abstract The influence of aging condition and the precipitation kinetics of 17-4 PH stainless steel (AISI 630) were studied in this paper. The effect of aging temperature and time in terms of tempering parameter on the strengthening behavior of this steel was modeled and analyzed by means of artificial neural networks (ANNs). The hardening, overaging

Hot Ductility of the 17-4 PH Stainless Steels

Journal of Materials Engineering and Performance, 2016
The mechanisms of loss of hot ductility and the mechanical behavior of 17-4 PH alloys were investigated using hot tensile testing at temperatures between 700 and 1100 °C and strain rates of 10−4, 10−2, and 10−1 s−1. Scanning electron microscopy was used in conjunction with the results of the tensile tests to find the temperature region of loss of ...

Characteristics of Interdiffusion between 17-4 PH Steel and Nickel

Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A, 2008
The characteristics of interdiffusion between precipitation-hardened 17-4 PH grade stainless steel and nickel were studied in the temperature range of 900 °C to 1100 °C, using diffusion couples of these two materials. The diffusion coefficients of the major diffusing elements Fe, Ni, Cr, and Cu were evaluated for this multicomponent system.

Activated gas nitriding of 17-4 PH stainless steel

Surface and Coatings Technology, 2006
Results of the investigation of nitrided precipitation-hardened steel 17-4 PH surface have been presented. The layers have been created as a result of the gas nitriding process in a partly dissociated ammonia. Hydrogen chloride admixture to ammonia was used as a steel surface activator.

Effects of aging on the microstructure of 17-4 PH stainless steel

Materials Science and Engineering: A, 1988
Microstructures developed in commercial 17-4 PH precipitation-hardened stainless steel after different heat treatments have been studied. The martensite formed in this alloy has been found to be of a lath morphology having a dislocated substructure.
