Precipitation of niobic acid from potassium niobate in sulphuric acid solution: A route to niobium oxide

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Graphical abstract illustrating the niobic acid precipitation process applied and the product obtained. Abstract This study investigates the precipitation of niobic acid (Nb2O5.nH2O) from potassium niobate solution with addition of sulphuric acid, and its subsequent thermal conversion into niobium oxide (Nb2O5). Thermodynamic modelling with PHREEQC and

A Facile Protocol for C(sp2)–C(sp3) Bond Formation Reactions Toward Functionalized E3 Ligase Ligands

open access: yesChemMedChem, EarlyView.
A robust C(sp2)–C(sp3) decarboxylative coupling strategy enables access to new CRBN ligands and degraders with improved physicochemical properties. This synthetic approach is expanding the chemical space beyond C(sp2)–N linkages, fine‐tuning proteolysis‐targeting chimera activities and unlocking previously inaccessible degrader chemotypes.

On the Vapor Pressures, Phase Transitions, and Solid‐State Fluorescence of 2‐(2‐Hydroxyphenyl)benzoxazole and 2‐(2‐Hydroxyphenyl)benzothiazole

open access: yesChemPhysChem, EarlyView.
Benzazoles 2‐(2‐hydroxyphenyl)benzothiazole and 2‐(2‐hydroxyphenyl)benzoxazole exhibit tunable optoelectronic properties via excited‐state intramolecular proton transfer. Combining thermogravimetry (TG‐DSC), vapor pressure measurements, and fluorescence spectroscopy, how sulfur (S) versus oxygen (O) substitution dictates their stability, sublimation ...

Navigating the Genetic Risk of Chemotherapy‐Induced Hearing Loss in the Stria Vascularis

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Cisplatin is a chemotherapy drug that causes permanent hearing loss by damaging a critical tissue lining the inner ear, called the stria vascularis (SV). Currently, the molecular mechanisms of SV damage are largely unknown and the incidence of ototoxicity in patients cannot be reliably predicted.

Lower Dose‐Normalized Tacrolimus Exposure in CYP3A5*6 vs. *3 Loss‐of‐Function Allele Carriers: A Longitudinal Retrospective Real‐World Study in Kidney Transplant Recipients

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Pharmacogenomic research has historically focused on individuals of European ancestry, leading to the underrepresentation of genetic variants common in non‐European populations. This bias is exemplified by CYP3A5*6, a functionally consequential variant common in individuals of African ancestry (MAF: 11–19%) but virtually absent in Europeans (MAF: 0.15%)
