Preparation and Characterization of Hydrogel (2-Hydroxyethyl Methacrylate, Methacrylamide) for Insulin Delivery [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering
For diabetics, insulin replacement therapy by injection of insulin is a common and final treatment protocol. They must replace insulin with a subcutaneous insulin injection via a syringe up to four times a day.

Inkjet-printed vertically emitting solid-state organic lasers

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper, we show that Inkjet Printing can be successfully applied to external-cavity vertically-emitting thin-film organic lasers, and can be used to generate a diffraction-limited output beam with an output energy as high as 33.6 uJ with a slope ...

Mild synthesis of poly(HEMA)-networks as well-defined nanoparticles in supercritical carbon dioxide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Free-radical dispersion polymerisation of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate was carried out in supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) in the presence of stabilisers based on polyethylene oxide (PEO) and poly(heptadecafluorodecyl acrylate) (PFDA).

Detection and characterization of Sp1 binding activity in human chondrocytes and its alterations during chondrocyte dedifferentiation. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We have detected DNA binding activity for a synthetic oligonucleotide containing an Sp1 consensus sequence in nuclear extracts from human chondrocytes. Changes in the levels of Sp1 oligonucleotide binding activity were examined in nuclear extracts from ...

Unsaturated biobased polyesters from bicyclic α‐pinene‐based diols

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
We present the synthesis of four biosourced unsaturated polyesters made from chiral terpene‐based diols and esters of renewable diacids. The resulting materials harbor a bicyclic pinene ring in their backbones which leads to enhanced thermal properties while still conferring susceptibility to enzyme hydrolysis for chains having a cis alkene.

Enhanced surface interaction of water confined in hierarchical porous polymers induced by hydrogen bonding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Hierarchical porous polymer systems are increasingly applied to catalysis, bioengineering, or separation technology because of the versatility provided by the connection of mesopores with percolating macroporous structures.

Copolymer Synthesis of N‐Vinylacetamide and 2‐Methylene‐1,3‐Dioxepane Provides a New Degradable Polymer

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, Volume 63, Issue 6, Page 1306-1318, 15 March 2025.
ABSTRACT N‐vinylamides, especially noncyclic N‐vinylacetamide (NVA), have been used in various applications such as biomaterials, surfactants, and hydrogels. However, their potential to copolymerize with cyclic ketene acetal (CKA) to create degradable polymers is underexplored.

Photodegradable Hydrogels for On‐Demand Modeling of Age‐Related Spatiotemporal ECM Deformation

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A light‐tunable PEG hydrogel enables on‐demand, spatiotemporal modeling of drusen‐like ECM bulges in the aging outer retina. By precisely controlling bulge size, the platform reveals how retinal pigment epithelium morphology adapts to topographical changes without disrupting actin cytoskeleton or polarity, effectively mimicking early ageing before ...
