Biological properties of copolymer of 2-Hydroxyethyl methacrylate with sulfopropyl methacrylate
Interaction of organism with non-toxic implanted polymers depends on the physicochemical properties of the implant surface, which influence the adsorption of bioactive proteins and subsequently adhesion and growth of cells. The synthetic hydrogels are known as poorly adhesive surfaces. In this study we demonstrated the adsorption of albumin, fibrinogen,

4D Printing of Self‐Immolative Polymers
The integration of self‐immolative polymers (SIPs) into light‐based 3D printed structures is presented as a new “living” 4D printing strategy. By exploiting their metastability and stimuli‐responsiveness, SIP‐containing printed objects can undergo rapid and triggered degrowth under ambient conditions and subsequent regrowth through polymer ...

Molecularly imprinted soft contact lenses as chloramphenicol delivery systems [PDF]
Due to the fact that only a small part of the ophthalmic drugs, taken in traditional ways, reaches the affected area patients need to take large amounts of medication. This problem could be overcome by extending the duration of a drug's spent time on the

Electropolymerization of polyaniline nanowires on poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) coated Platinum electrode [PDF]
A platinum electrode (Pt) was coated with poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (PHEMA) by electrochemical polymerization using chronopotentiometry. Electropolymerization of polyaniline nanowires doped with camphorsulfonic acid (PANI:CSA) was further ...

Controlling 3D Contractility via Engineered Fibrous Hydrogel Composites
A tunable composite contractile assembly (CCA) is developed that can permit or resist contraction without changing cell‐adhesion and density, unlike collagen whose inherent coupling of these ECM cues limits its use as a platform in contractility studies.

Biocompatible Bacterial Cellulose-Poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) Nanocomposite Films [PDF]
A series of bacterial cellulose-poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) nanocomposite films was prepared byin situradical polymerization of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA), using variable amounts of poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA) as cross-linker.

Bio‐Inspired Molecular Events in Poly(Ionic Liquids)
Originating from dipolar and polar inter‐ and intra‐chain interactions of the building blocks, the topologies and morphologies of poly(ionic liquids) (PIL) govern their nano‐ and micro‐processibility. Modulating the interactions of cation‐anion pairs with aliphatic dipolar components enables the tunability of properties, facilitated by “bottom‐up ...
