Gold‐Catalyzed Dearomatization of 2‐Naphthols with Alkynes
Chemistry – A European Journal, 2017AbstractThe site‐selective dearomatization of naphthols is realized in a straightforward manner through a gold(I)‐catalyzed [3,3]‐sigmatropic rearrangement/allene functionalization cascade sequence. The method employs readily available naphthylpropargyl ethers as starting materials.

2-Naphthol levels and genotoxicity in rubber workers
Toxicology Letters, 2012Urinary bladder cancer is a historical disease of rubber workers often been associated with exposure to aromatic amines such as 2-naphthylamine. While exposure to these compounds has decreased markedly over time, the bladder cancer risk has not decreased in direct proportion. Polycyclic aromatic compounds (PAC) are candidates for urinary bladder cancer

Rh-Catalyzed aminative dearomatization of 2-naphthols
Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry, 2018β-Naphthalenones bearing a naked α-amino group could be rapidly constructed through a Rh-catalyzed aminative dearomatization reaction of 2-naphthols with O -(2,4-dinitrophenyl)hydroxylamine.

Doping of Polyaniline with 6-Cyano-2-naphthol
The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2014The conductivity of polyaniline (PANI) is ascribed to its emeraldine salt (PANI-ES), which is formed by protonation of its emeraldine base (PANI-EB) by acids. Generally, mineral acids are used for this purpose, but the use of dopants and additives to maintain the required acidity provides an alternative method to the preparation of PANI-ES. The present

It has been reported that β-MnO2 has photocatalytic activity for the oxidative-coupling of 2-naphthols into 1,1′-bi-2-naphthols. Nevertheless, it is hard to exclude the possibility that the oxidative-coupling of 2-naphthols is initiated by β-MnO2 catalysis in dark due to the insufficient investigations in the related reports.

Ozonolysis of 1-phenylazo-2-naphthol
Dyes and Pigments, 1984Abstract The ozonolysis of 1-phenylazo-2-naphthol was studied using ozone in an oxygen stream. 1-Phenylazo-2-naphthol reacts with ozone to give benzene, chlorobenzene, phenol, o-naphthoquinone, phthalide and phthalic anhydride. The mechanism of the reaction is explained as an electrophilic attack of ozone with the hydrazone tautomer of 1-phenylazo-2 ...

PERCUTANEOUS ABSORPTION AND DISTRIBUTION OF 2-NAPHTHOL IN MAN
British Journal of Dermatology, 1972Summary.— A procedure is described for determining unchanged and conjugated 2-naphthol in plasma and urine. The method, based on gas chromatography is rapid and has a limit of detection of approximately 2 g/m/1−1. Twenty-four hours urine excretion data of 2-naphthol, after therapeutic application of a 2-naphthol-containing ointment on the skin of ...
