Synthesis and chemical properties of 3-acyl- and 3-carbethoxy-4-pyrones [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013

Poly[(μ-5,7-dihydroxy-4-oxo-2-phenyl-4H-chromene-8-sulfonato)potassium(I)]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2009
In the polymeric title compound, [K(C15H9O7S)]n, the potassium cation is five-coordinated by four sulfonate O atoms and one carbonyl O atom. Two intramolecular O—H...O hydrogen bonds stabilize the conformation of the anion.

T‐Shaped 8‐Aryl(ethynyl)‐Substituted Psoralens With Tunable Charge‐Transfer Absorption

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 8, 25 February 2026.
Starting from 8‐methoxypsoralen, new 8‐arylated and 8‐alkynylated psoralen derivatives are accessible by cross‐coupling. These T‐shaped π‐expanded chromophores are luminescent and photophysics reveal a highly polar excited state with tunable charge‐transfer character.

Novel Antifungal Scaffold Targeting Tubulin Overcomes Sclerotinia Sclerotiorum Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 8, 9 February 2026.
Addressing pesticide resistance, novel chromone‐acylhydrazone hybrids targeting fungal tubulin are synthesized. Compound G24 potently inhibited S. sclerotiorum (EC50 = 0.21µg mL−1) and demonstrated enhanced field performance via microencapsulation, offering a sustainable strategy against resistance and for global food security.

Secondary metabolites in Gerbera hybrida [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Plants produce a diversity of secondary metabolites, i.e., low-molecular-weight compounds that have primarily ecological functions in plants. The flavonoid pathway is one of the most studied biosynthetic pathways in plants.

14-Ethoxy-4,6-dimethyl-9-phenyl-8,12-dioxa-4,6-diazatetracyclo[8.8.0.02,7.013,18]octadeca-2(7),13,15,17-tetraene-3,5,11-trione

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2013
In the title compound, C23H20N2O6, the fused pyrone and pyran rings each adopt a sofa conformation. The dihedral angle between the mean planes of the pyran and phenyl rings is 61.9 (1)°.

Isoflavonoids and Epigenetic Modulation: Therapeutic Insights for Cancer Treatment

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 2, February 2026.
Venn diagram illustrating the epigenetic roles of three phytochemical groups—flavonoids, isoflavonoids, and pterocarpans. ABSTRACT Isolavonoides represent the second largest subgroup of flavonoids and have an influence on critical molecular pathways and restore cellular homeostasis, through the reprogramming of epigenetic regulatory mechanisms.
