Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of Bicyclic Pyrazolines with Promising Antimicrobial Activities

open access: yesChemMedChem, EarlyView.
Continuous flow technology is exploited for the generation of bicyclic pyrazolines via photo‐click reactions. These heterocyclic species contain a valuable 3D scaffold along with a polar succinimide moiety. Subsequent antimicrobial testing reveals that halogenated moieties such as chlorine atoms and trifluoromethoxy groups enhance the potency of these ...

Exploring Substituted Dihydroxybenzenes as Urease Inhibitors through Structure–Activity Relationship Studies in Soil Incubations

open access: yesChemPlusChem, EarlyView.
New catechol derivatives are found to inhibit the urease enzyme more effectively than N‐(n‐butyl)thiophosphoric triamide (NBPT), particularly in acidic sandy loam soil. Unlike NBPT, these derivatives exert their inhibitory effect through noncompetitive inhibition.

Progress in Pharmacogenomics Implementation in the United States: Barrier Erosion and Remaining Challenges

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Barriers to incorporating pharmacogenetics into routine clinical practice in the United States are well documented. Initial surveys by the Clinical Pharmacogenetics Implementation Consortium (CPIC) in 2009 and 2010 identified barriers across four key domains that have hindered the widespread adoption of clinical pharmacogenetic testing.
