XAT-Generated Azirinyl Radicals in Selective Giese-Type Alkylation of 2H-Azirines.

Organic Letters
We report a radical strategy for direct C2-alkylation of 2H-azirines via generation of elusive 2H-azirinyl radicals. These highly reactive intermediates are accessed under mild halogen-atom transfer conditions from readily available 2-haloazirines.

Modular Approach to Non-aromatic and Aromatic Pyrroles through Gold-catalyzed [3+2] Cycloaddition of 2H-Azirines and Ynamides

Organic Chemistry Frontiers, 2022
The developed modular approach to hard-to-reach non-aromatic 3H- and 2H-pyrroles is based on the integration of 2H-azirines and ynamides.

Cascade Reaction of 2H-Azirines and o-Bromoaryl Isothiocyanates: An Access to Benzo[d]imidazo[2,1-b]thiazoles.

Journal of Organic Chemistry
A novel Cs2CO3-promoted method for the synthesis of benzo[d]imidazo[2,1-b]thiazol derivatives from 2H-azirines and o-bromoaryl isothiocyanates was successfully explored via C-S bond formation under transition-metal-free condition.

Microwave spectrum of 3-methyl-2H-azirine

Journal of Molecular Structure, 1997
Abstract The microwave spectrum of 3-methyl-2H-azirine produced by pyrolyzing N -chloro-2-methylaziridine was observed. This new, unstable molecule was identified based on a comparison of observed molecular constants and those determined by an ab initio MO calculation. The rotational constants are A = 22338.04(4), B = 6618.622(9), and C = 5464.

Solvent- and Catalyst-Controlled Regioselective O- and N-Alkylation of 2-Pyridones by 2H-Azirines.

Journal of Organic Chemistry
The synthesis of O-substituted 2-hydroxypyridines and N-substituted 2-pyridones, crucial for many bioactive compounds and drugs, faces challenges due to the tautomeric nature of 2-pyridones, which complicates selective alkylation.

Organocatalyzed nucleophilic addition of pyrazoles to 2H-azirines: asymmetric synthesis of 3,3-disubstituted aziridines and kinetic resolution of racemic 2H-azirines

Chemical Communications, 2016
An asymmetric nucleophilic addition of pyrazoles to 2H-azirines via organocatalytic kinetic resolution afforded chiral aziridines and azirines simultaneously.

Brønsted acid-catalyzed regioselective ring opening of 2H-azirines by 2-mercaptopyridines and related heterocycles; one pot access to imidazo[1,2-a]pyridines and imidazo[2,1-b]thiazoles.

Organic and biomolecular chemistry
A catalytic and versatile synthetic method for the synthesis of imidazo[1,2-a]pyridines has been developed. Brønsted acid-catalysis plays a major role in the regioselective ring opening of 2H-azirines.
