Comparison of digestion methods to determine heavy metals in fertilizers
The lack of a standard method to regulate heavy metal determination in Brazilian fertilizers and the subsequent use of several digestion methods have produced variations in the results, hampering interpretation. Thus, the aim of this study was to compare

Abstract We investigated temporal changes in operational Fe pools and their association with soil organic carbon (SOC) fractions in an estuarine soil affected by the deposition of iron‐rich mine tailings over 6 years in Southeast Brazil. Sequential Fe extractions revealed a 56% decrease in Fe extracted with citrate–bicarbonate–dithionite alongside a 50%

Mis-expression of GATA6 re-programs cell fate during early hematopoiesis
Summary: The traditional view of hematopoiesis is that myeloid cells derive from a common myeloid progenitor (CMP), whereas all lymphoid cell populations, including B, T, and natural killer (NK) cells and possibly plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs ...

Unusual backfolded binding poses of BAZ2A bromodomain binders
We identified BAZ2A‐binding compounds assuming a peculiar, almost enclosed, conformation. These molecules pose a basis for the development of potent BAZ2A macrocyclic inhibitors, as performed for other bromodomains.BAZ2A is a large multidomain protein overexpressed in aggressive prostate cancer, where it potentiates migration and invasion of other ...

Generation of iPSC lines from peripheral blood mononuclear cells from 5 healthy adults
: We describe the generation and characterization of 5 human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) lines derived from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of healthy adult individuals. The PBMCs were reprogrammed using non-integrating Sendai viruses

This study investigated how species richness and biotope space affect phytoextracted nickel mass. Growing monocultures and bicultures of two endemic species across a nickel stress gradient revealed that bicultures generally enhanced soil nickel bioavailability, aboveground biomass, and nickel phytoextraction compared to monocultures.

Abstract Introduction Desert fishes are vulnerable to anthropogenic environmental alterations that degrade habitat and reduce water availability, but these same fishes benefit from restoration actions that reverse the causes of decline. Ash Meadows speckled dace (Rhinichthys osculus nevadensis) is a federally endangered minnow endemic to the Mojave ...
