Given the abstract evolution equation y′(t)=Ay(t),t∈ℝ,y^{\prime} (t)=Ay(t),t\in {\mathbb{R}}, with a scalar type spectral operator A in a complex Banach space, we find conditions on A, formulated exclusively in terms of the location of its spectrum in ...

Solution to the first Cousin problem for vector-valued quasianalytic functions [PDF]
We study spaces of vector-valued quasianalytic functions and solve the first Cousin problem in these spaces.Comment: 23 ...

Background – Because of the increased incidence of multidrug‐resistant (MDR) bacteria, the use of disinfectants over antibiotics has been encouraged. However, the interactions between disinfectants and host local immunity are poorly understood. Objective – To assess the effects of chlorhexidine digluconate (Chx), with and without selected host defence ...

Abstract Children growing up in families experiencing socioeconomic disadvantage (SED) are at greater risk for deficits in attachment and stress regulation as compared to peers in families with more socioeconomic resources. The present study hypothesized that care providers in out‐of‐home care might help these children to compensate.

Given the availability of Global Fishing Watch data, our analysis can be applied to other marine predators—if tracking data are available—to identify spatio‐temporal patterns, vessel specific attributes and predator behaviours associated with fishing vessel associations, thus enabling predictive modelling and targeted mitigation measures.

Characterization of ultradifferentiable test functions defined by weight matrices in terms of their Fourier transform [PDF]
We prove that functions with compact support in non-quasianalytic classes of Roumieu-type and of Beurling-type defined by a weight matrix with some mild regularity conditions can be characterized by the decay properties of their Fourier transform.

Pathological phenomena in Denjoy-Carleman classes [PDF]
Let $\mathcal C^M$ denote a Denjoy-Carleman class of $\mathcal C^\infty$ functions (for a given logarithmically-convex sequence $M = (M_n)$). We construct: (1) a function in $\mathcal C^M((-1,1))$ which is nowhere in any smaller class; (2) a function on $

Spectral theorem approach to commutative C* -algebras generated by Toeplitz operators on the unit ball: quasi-elliptic related cases [PDF]
We consider commutative C* -algebras of Toeplitz operators in the weighted Bergman space on the unit ball in $\mathbb{C}^{\mathbf{n}}$. For the algebras of elliptic type we find a new representation, namely as the algebra of operators which are functions
