Evaluation of the effects of chlorhexidine digluconate with and without cBD103 or cCath against multidrug‐resistant clinical isolates of Staphylococcus pseudintermedius

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 33, Issue 1, Page 17-e6, February 2022., 2022
Background – Because of the increased incidence of multidrug‐resistant (MDR) bacteria, the use of disinfectants over antibiotics has been encouraged. However, the interactions between disinfectants and host local immunity are poorly understood. Objective – To assess the effects of chlorhexidine digluconate (Chx), with and without selected host defence ...

Attachment and stress regulation in socioeconomically disadvantaged children: Can public childcare compensate?

open access: yesInfant Mental Health Journal: Infancy and Early Childhood, Volume 42, Issue 6, Page 839-850, November/December 2021., 2021
Abstract Children growing up in families experiencing socioeconomic disadvantage (SED) are at greater risk for deficits in attachment and stress regulation as compared to peers in families with more socioeconomic resources. The present study hypothesized that care providers in out‐of‐home care might help these children to compensate.

Across borders: External factors and prior behaviour influence North Pacific albatross associations with fishing vessels

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 58, Issue 6, Page 1272-1283, June 2021., 2021
Given the availability of Global Fishing Watch data, our analysis can be applied to other marine predators—if tracking data are available—to identify spatio‐temporal patterns, vessel specific attributes and predator behaviours associated with fishing vessel associations, thus enabling predictive modelling and targeted mitigation measures.

On the Carleman classes of vectors of a scalar type spectral operator

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, Volume 2004, Issue 60, Page 3219-3235, 2004., 2004
The Carleman classes of a scalar type spectral operator in a reflexive Banach space are characterized in terms of the operator′s resolution of the identity. A theorem of the Paley‐Wiener type is considered as an application.

Efficacy of an oral chew containing fibre and Bacillus velezensis C‐3102 in the management of anal sac impaction in dogs

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 36, Issue 1, Page 74-82, February 2025.
Background — Anal sac impaction is common in dogs and manual expression may be effective, yet recurrence remains a problem. To facilitate physiological emptying of the sacs, it is important to maintain a bulky stool consistency. Objectives — The study evaluated if supplementation with ProGlan, a complementary feed containing Bacillus velezensis C‐3102 ...
