Clustomesogen Showing Sub‐Zero Liquid Crystal Properties: Supramolecular Assembly Between Cs2[Mo6Ii8(OCOC2F5)6] and Hexaethylenoxide Containing Mesogenic Dimers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Associating a red‐NIR phosphorescent octahedral hexanuclear molybdenum cluster compound with hexaethyleneoxide chains bearing mesogenic units on both ends leads to an emissive hybrid liquid crystal showing mesomorphism on a very unusual temperature range down to −25°C.

Phase‐Pure and Size‐Tunable Tin Halide Perovskite Quantum Dots

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A trioctylphosphine oxide modulated protocol allows for the synthesis and study of the optical properties of a broad library of tin halide perovskite quantum dots across multiple A‐ and X‐site compositions with precise size tuning while eliminating unwanted 2D phases.

Laser‐Assisted Phase Engineering of 2D MoS2 for Efficient Solution‐Processed Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Here, local laser‐assisted phase transition from solution‐processed phase‐pure 1T′ to 2H MoS2 is shown to critically depend on the irradiation atmosphere. While processing in air leads to damaged insulating regions, inert conditions yield semiconducting 2H domains, enabling direct field‐effect transistor patterning with optimized lateral 1T′‐2H MoS2 ...

A Comprehensive Computer-Aided Review of Trends in Heterogeneous Catalysis and Its Theoretical Modelling for Engineering Catalytic Activity

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Engineering of Japan
Writing scientific literature reviews is highly challenging, especially for broad topics like “heterogeneous catalysis” due to the explosion of knowledge. In this article, we introduce a machine-assisted approach aimed to facilitating this process.

Independent regulatory agencies in emerging economies [PDF]

open access: yes
While the diffusion of independent regulatory agencies (IRAs) across economically advanced countries has attracted much scholarly attention in recent years, systematic work on their spread across developing countries is still scarce.

A Mechanistic Study of Bio‐Based Nanotemplated Carbon Nanofibers Derived From Water Processable Lignin Blends for Sustainable Energy Storage Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
As‐spun carbon materials produced from Lignosulfonate, gelatin, and alginate, selected for water solubility, and ability to produce templated sustainable carbon nanostructures. Gelatin and alginate are sacrificial during thermal processing, allowing the production of engineered high surface area nanostructures, which are further characterized for ...

Sensitivity of CLIC at 380 GeV to the top FCNC decay $t\rightarrow cH$

open access: yes, 2017
In the Standard Model (SM), flavour changing neutral current (FCNC) top decays, possible at loop level only, are very strongly suppressed. Observation of any such decay would be a direct signature of physics beyond the SM. Large enhancements are possible
