Astronomical spectrograph calibration with broad-spectrum frequency combs

open access: yes, 2008
Broadband femtosecond-laser frequency combs are filtered to spectrographically resolvable frequency-mode spacing, and the limitations of using cavities for spectral filtering are considered. Data and theory are used to show implications to spectrographic

Effect of nutrition survey 'cleaning criteria' on estimates of malnutrition prevalence and disease burden: secondary data analysis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Tackling childhood malnutrition is a global health priority. A key indicator is the estimated prevalence of malnutrition, measured by nutrition surveys. Most aspects of survey design are standardised, but data 'cleaning criteria' are not.

Constraints on Higgs Effective Couplings in Production of CLIC at 380 GeV [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The potential of the process in the first stage of CLIC considering center-of-mass energy of 380 GeV and assuming the baseline integrated luminosity of 500  is examined to probe CP-conserving dimension-six operators in a model-independent Standard Model ...

Nrf2-regulated miR-380-3p Blocks the Translation of Sp3 Protein and Its Mediation of Paraquat-Induced Toxicity in Mouse Neuroblastoma N2a Cells

open access: yesToxicological Sciences, 2019
Laboratorial and epidemiological research has established a relationship between paraquat (PQ) exposure and a risk for Parkinson’s disease. Previously, we have investigated the effects of nuclear factor erythroid 2 related factor 2 (Nrf2) and microRNAs ...

MiR-380 inhibits the proliferation and invasion of cholangiocarcinoma cells by silencing LIS1

open access: yesCancer Cell International
Background The objective of this study was to determine the role and regulatory mechanism of miR-380 in cholangiocarcinoma. Methods The TargetScan database and a dual-luciferase reporter assay system were used to determine if LIS1 was a target gene of ...

miR-380-3p regulates melanogenesis by targeting SOX6 in melanocytes from alpacas (Vicugna pacos)

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2019
Melanocytes are derived from neural crest stem cells in the embryonic stage. In mature melanocytes, a series of complex enzyme-catalyzed reactions leads to the production of melanins, which determine the hair and skin colors of animals.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.
