MOBILE INDOOR LASER SCANNING FOR 3D STRATA REGISTRATION PURPOSES BASED ON INDOORGML [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2019
In Malaysia, the current 2D cadastre system is regularly updated by the National Mapping Agency (NMA) and Land Offices (LO). However, this 2D information may not be able to serve complex situations.

Soil‐Borne Pathogens Reflect Agricultural Land‐Use Legacies

open access: yesEcology Letters, Volume 29, Issue 2, February 2026.
Legacy effects profoundly shape the distribution and diversity of terrestrial communities, but are difficult to grasp over longer timescales. Here, we use historical land‐use maps to study lingering legacies of historical land use on present‐day microbial communities.

The need for 3D cadastre in Kosovo [PDF]

open access: yesMicro, Macro & Mezzo Geoinformation, 2015
The aim of this article is to analyze how the cadastral system was developed in Kosovo historically, to examine methodically in which level of development is it and to investigate potential solutions in 3D cadastre development comparing other countries ...

The Role of Volunteered Geographic Information towards 3D Property Cadastral Systems (2): A Purpose Driven Web Application [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
VGI has not proved to be readily suitable to replace well-established accurate methods and technologies such as those of full standard cadastral surveys. Even so, VGI potentialities as relevant source of geospatial data have been widely acknowledged.

Hydrocartography in Times of Menacing Waters: Xokleng Mapping and the Politics of Floods in Southern Brazil

open access: yesGeo: Geography and Environment, Volume 13, Issue 1, January‐June 2026.
Short Abstract Following hydrofeminist and political ecology debates, this paper argues for a hydrocartographic approach to the cartographic examination of social water relations that affects both the way we understand cartography and the mapping of waters.

Quantifying urban tree canopy cooling capacity using Bayesian hierarchical models and satellite imagery

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, Volume 8, Issue 1, Page 338-352, January 2026.
Cities are getting hotter because of climate change and urban development, increasing risks to health and well‐being. We analyzed how increasing urban tree canopy cover in city areas of 900 m2 can reduce land surface temperatures, using detailed aerial‐LiDAR and satellite data with Bayesian hierarchical models.

3D cadastral complexities in dense urban areas of developing countries: case studies from Delhi and satellite towns [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Cadastral systems based on 2D spatial representation have served land administration and property management well for centuries. In India, the basic unit of the cadastral record is the land parcel, which is known as plot. Maintenance of land records with

Accumulating time lags across biodiversity levels following land‐use change

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 114, Issue 1, January 2026.
Species identity seems central in governing the observed delays at each level of biodiversity, from genetic to functional diversity. In particular, species identity controls the slowest responses at the genetic level, potentially leading to accumulating underestimations of the size and duration of time lags at species, community and functional ...
