A 3D computer graphics approach to brachytherapy planning
The International Journal of Cardiovascular Imaging, 2004Intravascular brachytherapy (IVB) can significantly reduce the risk of restenosis after interventional treatment of stenotic arteries, if planned and applied correctly. In order to facilitate computer-based IVB planning, a three-dimensional reconstruction of the stenotic artery based on intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) sequences is desirable.

PolyFrame, Efficient Computation for 3D Graphic Statics
Computer-Aided Design, 2021Abstract In this paper, we introduce a structural form finding plugin called PolyFrame for the Rhinoceros software. This plugin is developed based on the methods of 3D Graphic Statics and Polyhedral Reciprocal Diagrams. The computational framework of this plugin uses new robust and efficient algorithms for the creation and modification of complex ...

3D capture for computer graphics
Proceedings Third International Conference on 3-D Digital Imaging and Modeling, 2002We examine the use of 3D scanned objects in computer graphics applications. We consider the requirements for the types and resolution of data required. We also identify some outstanding research issues in this area.

Generating comics from 3D interactive computer graphics
IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications, 2006Storyboards and scripts use comic-like frames to narrate stories. Such displays can also summarize the main events in a film, video, or virtual world interaction creating a more succinct representation of the original graphics. Our goal is to create a sequence of comic-like images summarizing the main events in a virtual world environment and present ...

Power-Aware 3D Computer Graphics Rendering
Journal of VLSI signal processing systems for signal, image and video technology, 2005Real-time 3D Graphics rendering consumes significant power because of its very high computation and memory access rate. Due to variation in workload and perceptual tolerance, power-awareness can optimize this power consumption significantly, thus facilitating migration to future power-constrained devices such as personal digital assistants (PDAs ...

Implementation Of True 3D Cursors In Computer Graphics
SPIE Proceedings, 1988The advances in stereoscopic image display techniques have shown an increased need for real-time interaction with the three-dimensional image. We have developed a prototype real-time stereoscopic cursor to investigate this interaction. The results have pointed out areas where hardware speeds are a limiting factor, as well as areas where various ...

The Use of 3D Abstract Graphical Types in Computer Graphics and Animation
1983By introducing three-dimensional graphical types into PASCAL and by providing the means of defining any drawing with them, we obtain a powerful structured graphic lanauge, called MIRA-3D.

The Implications of David Hockney Thesis for 3D Computer Graphics
2011 15th International Conference on Information Visualisation, 2011David Hockney's 2001 book Secret Knowledge of the Masters, reignited the debate on the use of optical devices for constructing perspective images in the Renaissance. In it, he brings his insights as an artist to the debate. This paper explores his thesis in terms of its implications for 3D computer graphics.
