Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Biophysical approaches for studying viral entry
Viruses infect all living organisms and have been responsible for major epidemics and pandemics. Their ongoing evolutionary battle with host defenses creates a constant need for improved tools to study viral behavior. Advancing methods to probe viral attachment, fusion, and genome release deepen our understanding of how infections begin and support the

View Invariant Gait Recognition [PDF]
Recognition by gait is of particular interest since it is the biometric that is available at the lowest resolution, or when other biometrics are (intentionally) obscured. Gait as a biometric has now shown increasing recognition capability. There are many

View Influence Analysis and Optimization for Multiview Face Recognition
We present a novel method to recognize a multiview face (i.e., to recognize a face under different views) through optimization of multiple single-view face recognitions. Many current face descriptors show quite satisfactory results to recognize identity

3D Signatures for Fast 3D Face Recognition [PDF]
We propose a vector representation (called a 3D signature) for 3D face shape in biometrics applications. Elements of the vector correspond to fixed surface points in a face-centered coordinate system. Since the elements are registered to the face, comparisons of vectors to produce match scores can be performed without a probe to gallery alignment step ...

Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

3D FACE RECOGNITION FROM RANGE IMAGES BASED ON CURVATURE ANALYSIS [PDF]
In this paper, we present a novel approach for three-dimensional face recognition by extracting the curvature maps from range images. There are four types of curvature maps: Gaussian, Mean, Maximum and Minimum curvature maps.

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

The detection of spoofing by 3D mask in a 2D identity recognition system
Nowadays face recognition systems are facing a new problem after having won the challenge of reliability. The problem is that these systems have become vulnerable to attacks by identity theft.

On using gait to enhance frontal face extraction [PDF]
Visual surveillance finds increasing deployment formonitoring urban environments. Operators need to be able to determine identity from surveillance images and often use face recognition for this purpose.
