Conserved binding mode but diverse interfaces of MreC‐PBP2 interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The crystal structure of abMreC reveals a conserved two β‐barrel architecture and provides structural insights into its role within the bacterial elongasome. The abMreC–abPBP2 complex model identifies the molecular basis of MreC‐mediated PBP2 recognition, contributing to the regulation of peptidoglycan synthesis.

TWELVE ANCHOR POINTS DETECTION BY DIRECT POINT CALCULATION

open access: yesJournal of ICT, 2007
Facial features can be categorized it into three approaches; Region Approaches, Anchor Point (landmark) Approaches and Contour Approaches. Generally, anchor points approach provide more accurate and consistent representation.

Pose‐invariant face recognition based on matching the occlusion free regions aligned by 3D generic model

open access: yesIET Computer Vision, 2020
Face recognition systems perform accurately in a controlled environment, but an unconstrained environment dramatically degrades their performance. In this study, a novel pose‐invariant face recognition system is proposed based on the occlusion free ...

Markov chain Monte Carlo for integrated face image analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This PhD thesis is about the integration of different methods to fit a statistical model of human faces to a single image. I propose to take a probabilistic view on the problem and implement and evaluate an integrative framework for face image ...

Microbiome‐blood–brain barrier interactions in aging — mechanisms and therapeutic potential

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Aging reshapes the gut microbiome (↓SCFA‐producing commensals; ↑pro‐inflammatory outputs), shifting circulating metabolites (↓SCFAs; ↑LPS, ↑TMAO, ↑PAA) that act at the BBB to increase nonspecific transcytosis, alter transport, and promote astrocyte reactivity, heightening brain vulnerability.

PDE Face: A Novel 3D Face Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
YesWe introduce a novel approach to face models, which exploits the use of Partial Differential Equations (PDE) to generate the 3D face. This addresses some common problems of existing face models.

3D Face Recognition

open access: yes, 2007
The survival of an individual in a socially complex world depends greatly on the ability to interpret visual information about the age, sex, race, identity and emotional state of another person based on that person’s face. Despite a variety of different adverse conditions (varying facial expressions and facial poses, differences in illumination and ...

A Monte Carlo strategy to integrate detection and model-based face analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We present a novel probabilistic approach for tting a statistical model to an image. A 3D Morphable Model (3DMM) of faces is interpreted as a generative (Top-Down) Bayesian model.

Structure‐forward targeting of claudins with synthetic binders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Claudins form the paracellular barriers between epithelial and endothelial tissues at tight junctions and are targets for molecular binders with the goal of modulating barrier permeability. Claudin‐binding molecules are relevant in drug delivery or in altering claudin interactions with disease‐causing proteins.

Nose tip detection on three‐dimensional faces using pose‐invariant differential surface features

open access: yesIET Computer Vision, 2015
Three‐dimensional (3D) facial data offer the potential to overcome the difficulties caused by the variation of head pose and illumination in 2D face recognition.
