The present study investigates recycling of NiTi shape memory alloys via vacuum induction melting. An ingot was synthesized from elemental Ni and Ti and subjected to three subsequent remelting cycles. Remelting increases process durations and impurity levels and adversely affects microstructures and functional properties.

A novel workflow for investigating hydride vapor phase epitaxy for GaN bulk crystal growth is proposed. It combines Design of experiments (DoE) with physical simulations of mass transport and crystal growth kinetics, serving as an intermediate step between DoE and experiments.

We present a detailed study of three-dimensional (3D) thermodynamic structures of the intracluster medium (ICM) across edges in the X-ray surface brightness of four massive, bright, dynamically active galaxy clusters (A3667, A2319, A520, and A2146), with

Soft Mechanical‐Electrical Logic Using Liquid Metal‐Filled 3D‐Printed Architectures
We present 3D‐printed soft mechanical–electrical logic elements that use liquid metal–filled silicone tubes actuated by thermoplastic polyurethane/polylactic acid (TPU/PLA) architectures to produce Boolean operations. Complementary normally open and normally closed unit cells perform repeatable binary transitions and can be combined into more complex ...

3D forward modeling of upgoing and downgoing wavefields using Hilbert transform
The separation of upgoing and downgoing wavefields is an important technique in the processing of vertical seismic profiling data and ocean bottom cable data. It is also used in reverse time migration (RTM) based on the two-way wave equation to suppress

From Shear to Sound: Mechanics–Acoustics Mapping of TPMS Lattices
Triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) lattices are mapped across mechanical and acoustic performance, revealing that descriptors validated in compression fail under shear. First‐time comparison with trusses included. A transition from porous to resonance‐driven absorption emerges at 25% density.

Four well-known high order finite difference techniques : 3D forward modeling programs (out-of-core)
We introduce a set of 3D out-of-core seismic forward modeling algorithms, which have been implemented on the CRAY X-MP supercomputer. The algorithms are based on four well-known high order finite difference techniques: the forward explicit method, the ...
