Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

The relationship between facial directional asymmetry, handedness, chewing side preference, and eyedness

open access: yesScientific Reports
We aimed to describe facial directional asymmetry (DA) in individuals with different manifestations of laterality. Due to the overlap between brain and face development, a relationship between the manifestation of brain laterality and DA is hypothesised.

Simple smartphone applications for superimposing 3D imagery in forensic dentistry

open access: yesDental Journal, 2020
Background: Forensic dentistry identification commonly involves using dental cast models as ante-mortem data. Here, dentists generally send the pictures as well as the dental records.

Volume measurement using 3D Range Imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The use of 3D Range Imaging has widespread applications. One of its applications provides us the information about the volumes of different objects. In this paper, 3D range imaging has been utilised to find out the volumes of different objects using two ...

Towards the 3D-Imaging of Sources

open access: yes, 2004
Geometric details of a nuclear reaction zone, at the time of particle emission, can be restored from low relative-velocity particle-correlations, following imaging.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Three-Dimensional Imaging by Frequency-Comb Spectral Interferometry

open access: yesSensors, 2020
In this paper, we demonstrate a three-dimensional imaging system based on the laser frequency comb. We develop a compact, all-fiber mode-locked laser at 1 μm, whose repetition frequency can be tightly synchronized to the external frequency reference.

A joint motion & disparity motion estimation technique for 3D integral video compression using evolutionary strategy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
3D imaging techniques have the potential to establish a future mass-market in the fields of entertainment and communications. Integral imaging, which can capture true 3D color images with only one camera, has been seen as the right technology to offer ...

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Compressive Spectral Imaging with Diffractive Lenses

open access: yes, 2019
Compressive spectral imaging enables to reconstruct the entire three-dimensional (3D) spectral cube from a few multiplexed images. Here, we develop a novel compressive spectral imaging technique using diffractive lenses.
