ACCURACY RESEARCH OF THE EFFECT OF LOCAL SURFACE MODELING METHODS ON THE GENERATION OF 3D MODELS OF HISTORICAL OBJECTS WITH ROCK-BASED BUILDING STRUCTURES USING OPEN-SOURCE SOFTWARE [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences
The paper describes the effect of the local surface modelling methods known as plane, quadric and triangulation on the generation of the 3D mesh models of the historical objects with rock-based building structures using Cloudcompare, an open-source ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

An integrated geoscience modelling approach to ground water and coastal flood risk [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Understanding flood risk in Morayshire has required the adoption of a holistic work programme that brought together a multidisciplinary scientific team who used a variety of modelling techniques to investigate groundwater and coastal flood risk within ...

The design-by-adaptation approach to universal access: learning from videogame technology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper proposes an alternative approach to the design of universally accessible interfaces to that provided by formal design frameworks applied ab initio to the development of new software. This approach, design-byadaptation, involves the transfer of

GeoPDNN 1.0: a semi-supervised deep learning neural network using pseudo-labels for three-dimensional shallow strata modelling and uncertainty analysis in urban areas from borehole data [PDF]

open access: yesGeoscientific Model Development
Borehole data are essential for conducting precise urban geological surveys and large-scale geological investigations. Traditionally, explicit modelling and implicit modelling have been the primary methods for visualizing borehole data and constructing ...

PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

Beyond the third dimension of BIM:A systematic review of literature and assessment of professional views [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Across the world, the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and the three-dimensional (3D) model in projects are increasingly frequent for supporting design tasks.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

3D Face Modeling based on 3D Morphable Shape Model

open access: yesThe Journal of the Korea Contents Association, 2008
Since 3D face can be rotated freely in 3D space and illumination effects can be modeled properly, 3D face modeling Is more precise and realistic in face pose, illumination, and expression than 2D face modeling. Thus, 3D modeling is necessitated much in face recognition, game, avatar, and etc. In this paper, we propose a 3D face modeling method based on

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.
