Modeling Trajectories for 3D Motion Analysis

2020
3D motion analysis by projecting trajectories on manifolds in a given video can be useful in different applications. In this work, we use two manifolds, Grassmann and Special Orthogonal group SO(3), to analyse accurately complex motions by projecting only skeleton data while dealing with rotation invariance.

Motion Analysis Using 3D High-Resolution Frequency Analysis

IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2013
The spatiotemporal spectra of a video that contains a moving object form a plane in the 3D frequency domain. This plane, which is described as the theoretical motion plane, reflects the velocity of the moving objects, which is calculated from the slope.

3D motion analysis of kick start motion−Effects of upper limb movements on the body when leaving the platform−

Electronics and Communications in Japan, 2023
AbstractThe purpose of this study was to clarify the effect of the presence or absence of upper limb movement on the propulsion direction body velocity (TPV) leaving the platform at kick start. The first trial (Standard trial) is a normal kick start, and the second trial (Lower trial) is the same as a normal kick start.

Reliability of Landing 3D Motion Analysis

Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, 2007
Biomechanical measures quantified during dynamic tasks with coupled epidemiological data in longitudinal experimental designs may be useful to determine which mechanisms underlie injury risk in young athletes. A key component is the ability to reliably measure biomechanical variables between testing sessions.

Robust semantic analysis by synthesis of 3D facial motion

Face and Gesture 2011, 2011
Rich face models already have a large impact on the fields of computer vision, perception research, as well as computer graphics and animation. Attributes such as descriptiveness, semantics, and intuitive control are desirable properties but hard to achieve.

3D Human Motion Analysis for Reconstruction and Recognition

2014
In recent years, biometrics modalities with depth information are an interesting resource. As they can apply to many applications, range scanners have obviously become popular increasing the measurement accuracy and speed. In this paper, we propose a method for 3D human motion analysis for reconstruction and recognition.

On-board camera 3D-motion analysis

Final Program and Abstracts on Information, Decision and Control, 2002
Estimation of on-board camera's 3D motion has been a very important technique for autonomous robot navigation and other vision-based detecting and measuring tasks. Due to the nonlinearity and continuously changing background, on-board camera's 3D-motion analysis is very complex and always employs optical flows, line matching of road lane-marks or ...

Motion Analysis of 3D Ultrasound Texture Patterns

2003
We model the process of imaging soft tissues with a 3D ultrasound probe using a linear convolution model, and obtain analytical expressions of both the ultrasound image and its spectrum. We use this model to study the ultrasound decorrelation caused by tissue motion both in the spatial domain and spectral domain.

2D and 3D motion analysis in digital subtraction angiography

1995
A very active research is conducted on notion analysis. Most of the concepts, methods and assumptions are well established and lead to additional improvements in computer vision applications. Even in medicine where we have to deal with noisy data, low contrast structures and deformable objects, they bring new cues at all the processing stages.

3D nonrigid motion analysis under small deformations

Image and Vision Computing, 2003
We present a novel method for estimating motion parameters and point correspondences between 3D surfaces under small nonrigid motion. A vector point function is utilized as the motion parameter, called the displacement function. Differential-geometric changes of surfaces are then used in tracking small deformations.
