Man in |e|space.mov / motion analysis in 3D space

Proceedings of the 13th annual ACM international conference on Multimedia, 2005
The article documents the theoretical and aesthetical basis of the interactive dance performance "man in |e|space.mov". The text discusses the abstraction of the human body in this performance by an interactive costume of light whose motion is analyzed by a 3D motion-rendering programme, which assembles and recombines the captured frame in real time in

Motion analysis using 3D Gabor kernels

2008 IEEE 16th Signal Processing, Communication and Applications Conference, 2008
Today human motion understanding has become one of the most active research areas in computer vision. This is due to promising applications in areas such as visual surveillance, human performance analysis, computer-human interfaces (robotic interaction with humans), content-based video retrieval/storage and virtual reality.

Vibration modes for nonrigid motion analysis in 3D images

1994
We concentrate on nonrigid motion analysis in 3D images using modal dynamics. Borrowing the solid state physics formulation, we develop the equations of motion and the analytical expression of vibration modes of a multidimensional elastically-deformable model. Thus, nonrigid motion of a 3D deformable object can be recovered in closed-form in real time.

A New Precision 3D Motion Analysis System

Advances in Bioengineering, 1998
Abstract A new in vitro technique for measuring three-dimensional six-degree-of-freedom motion was developed. The system consists of twenty-four nylon lines activating digital rotary encoders which are mounted on six panels of a rigid frame that surround the testing space.

Analysis of 3D vortex motion in a dusty plasma

Physics of Plasmas, 2017
Dust clusters of about 50–1000 particles have been confined near the sheath region of a gaseous radio-frequency plasma discharge. These compact clusters exhibit a vortex motion which has been reconstructed in full three dimensions from stereoscopy. Smaller clusters are found to show a competition between solid-like cluster structure and vortex motion ...

Equations for Nonlinear Analysis of 3D Motions of Beams

Applied Mechanics Reviews, 1991
The formulation of a set of mathematically consistent differential equations for analyzing nonlinear flexural–flexural–torsional–extensional motions of an Euler–Bernoulli beam is presented. The beam may be mounted on a rotating or on a non–rotating base. A brief discussion on an Euler-like form of the equations is also presented. When the equations are

3D human face analysis for recognition applications and motion capture
