SEGCloud: Semantic Segmentation of 3D Point Clouds

open access: yes, 2017
3D semantic scene labeling is fundamental to agents operating in the real world. In particular, labeling raw 3D point sets from sensors provides fine-grained semantics.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Feature Visualization for 3D Point Cloud Autoencoders

open access: yes2020 International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IJCNN), 2020
In order to reduce the dimensionality of 3D point cloud representations, autoencoder architectures generate increasingly abstract, compressed features of the input data. Visualizing these features is central to understanding the learning process, however, while successful visualization techniques exist for neural networks applied to computer vision ...

A Fully Convolutional Network for Semantic Labeling of 3D Point Clouds

open access: yes, 2017
When classifying point clouds, a large amount of time is devoted to the process of engineering a reliable set of features which are then passed to a classifier of choice.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Point cloud segmentation using hierarchical tree for architectural models

open access: yes, 2018
Recent developments in the 3D scanning technologies have made the generation of highly accurate 3D point clouds relatively easy but the segmentation of these point clouds remains a challenging area.

Validity of a Wearable Digital Insole for Assessing Gait ON and OFF in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Gait impairment is a distinctive symptom of Parkinson's disease that negatively impact mobility. We assessed the validity of wearable digital insoles against a validated reference gait analysis system for measuring select gait characteristics in patients with Parkinson's disease. Methods A comparative analysis between digital insoles

Research on Object Panoramic 3D Point Cloud Reconstruction System Based on Structure From Motion

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
3D reconstruction is the transformation of real objects into mathematical models. By using 3D models, we can observe the shape and measure the parameters, and help us to analyze the properties of objects.

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

A 3D Blur Suppression Method for High-Resolution and Wide-Swath Blurred Images Based on Estimating and Eliminating Defocused Point Clouds

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Traditional single-channel Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) cannot achieve high-resolution and wide-swath (HRWS) imaging due to the constraint of the minimum antenna area.
