A context‐dependent modulatory role for eIF6 in acquired resistance to vemurafenib in melanoma

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Acquired resistance to vemurafenib upregulates the translation factor eIF6 in melanoma cells. Silencing eIF6 in resistant cells reduces proliferation and partially restores drug sensitivity, whereas its overexpression increases sensitivity across melanoma lines regardless of BRAF status, via modulation of mTOR, S6K, and MAPK signaling.

NUMERICAL REPRESENTATION OF OBJECTS – REPRESENTATION OF 3D BODIES

open access: yesAnnals of ”Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati, Fascicle V, Technologies in machine building
We are familiar with everything necessary to create the image of a point or a line in digital environment, we can represent many points in 2D and in 3D. So that these sets of points projected in a design software can be transformed into somewhat suggestive images of solid objects, it is necessary to know the order in which certain points must be joined

SCNet: Subdivision Coding Network for Object Detection Based on 3D Point Cloud

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
High-precision real-time 3D object detection based on the LiDAR point cloud is an important task for autonomous driving. Most existing methods utilize grid-based convolutional networks to handle sparse and cluttered point clouds. However, the performance

Metastatic niche shaped by host factors influences disseminated cancer cell fate

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Metastasis is shaped not only by cancer cells but also by the environments they encounter. This review explores how factors such as aging, diet, the microbiome, lifestyle, and environmental exposures remodel organ‐specific niches in the lung, liver, bone, and brain, influencing where metastatic cells survive, remain dormant, or grow, and ultimately ...

3D Visibility Representations by Regular Polygons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We study 3D visibility representations of complete graphs where vertices are represented by equal regular polygons lying in planes parallel to the xy-plane. Edges correspond to the z-parallel visibility among these polygons. We improve the upper bound on the maximum size of a complete graph with a 3D visibility representation by regular n-gons from ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...
