3D representations for software visualization

Proceedings of the 2003 ACM symposium on Software visualization, 2003
The paper presents a new 3D representation for visualizing large software systems. The origins of this representation can be directly traced to the SeeSoft metaphor. This work extends these visualization mechanisms by utilizing the third dimension, texture, abstraction mechanism, and by supporting new manipulation techniques and user interfaces.

3D representation of the Mandelbrot set

The Visual Computer, 1994
A new 3D representation of the Mandelbrot set is presented. Although the method employing the Douady Hubbard's potential function has been useful for the 3D representation of the Mandelbrot set, in our new method 3D pictures are generated by setting height components normal to the plane of the original Mandelbrot set.

Representation and recognition of 3D curves

Proceedings CVPR '89: IEEE Computer Society Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2003
The space curves are highly descriptive features for 3-D objects. Invariant representations for space curves are discussed. The authors introduce a complex waveform representation for space curves. The waveform is parameterized by arc length. Also proposed is an invariant representation of space curves using the 3-D moment invariants of their ...
