Residual deformation analysis of laser powder bed fusion-fabricated lattice structures

open access: yesVirtual and Physical Prototyping
Lattice structures are crucial for weight reduction, and laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) is an efficient fabrication method. However, there's a notable research gap in understanding the residual deformation of LPBF-fabricated lattice structures.

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

3D Model Identification Using Weighted Implicit Shape Representation and Panoramic View

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2017
In this paper, we propose a 3 dimensional (3D) model identification method based on weighted implicit shape representation (WISR) and panoramic view. The WISR is used for 3D shape normalization.

Non-parametric 3D Shape Warping [PDF]

open access: yes2010 20th International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2010
A method is presented for non-rigid alignment of a source shape to a target shape through estimating and interpolating point-wise correspondences between their surfaces given as point clouds. The resulting mapping can be non-smooth and non-isometric, relate shapes across large variations, and find partial matches. It does not require a parametric model

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Keep it SMPL: Automatic Estimation of 3D Human Pose and Shape from a Single Image

open access: yes, 2016
We describe the first method to automatically estimate the 3D pose of the human body as well as its 3D shape from a single unconstrained image. We estimate a full 3D mesh and show that 2D joints alone carry a surprising amount of information about body ...

Three‐dimensional shape reconstruction of objects from a single depth view using deep U‐Net convolutional neural network with bottle‐neck skip connections

open access: yesIET Computer Vision, 2021
Three‐dimensional (3D) shape reconstruction of objects requires multiple scans and complex reconstruction algorithms. An alternative approach is to infer the 3D shape of an object from a single depth image (i.e. single depth view).
