3D Video

2014
International audience ; 3D video has been considered as the next step in television for some time. The transition from 2D to 3D is frequently seen as comparable to the transition from monochrome to color. The introduction of this new dimension adds new challenges regarding the question of its relates with Quality of Experience (QoE).

3D Video Fingerprinting

2008 3DTV Conference: The True Vision - Capture, Transmission and Display of 3D Video, 2008
Two new attacks on multiview videos in the view space is investigated, which is also applicable to stereo and free-view television. The first attack involves the generation of new views from different viewpoints. The second attack involves change in the region of focus (the display plane or the zero disparity plane) in the multiview images.

Minimal 3D video

ACM SIGGRAPH ASIA 2009 Sketches, 2009
We present a new concept that achieves the 3D reconstruction of dynamic scenes from multi-view video cameras (or 3D videos) using a minimal number of cameras, as opposed to the present state of the art approaches which require either several tens of cameras or high definition devices. A 3D video consists of a sequence of 3D models in motion captured by

3D Video Tools

2018
This chapter presents an overview of different tools used in research and engineering of 3D video delivery systems. These include software tools for 3D video compression and streaming, 3D video players, and their interfaces. Other types of tools widely used in research studies and development of new networking solutions, such as network simulators ...

3D-color video camera

2009 IEEE 12th International Conference on Computer Vision Workshops, ICCV Workshops, 2009
We introduce a design of a coded light-based 3D color video camera optimized for build up cost as well as accuracy in depth reconstruction and acquisition speed. The components of the system include a monochromatic camera and an off-the-shelf LED projector synchronized by a miniature circuit.

3D Video Encoding

2012
Over the past decade the progress in computing and telecommunication technologies have made storage and transmission of visual information media even more ubiquitous. Nowadays it is usual to stream in real-time huge amount of data on-line, e.g. over a LAN or the Internet.

Transmission of 3D Video Content

2018
This chapter describes different video transport technologies that support the existing 3D video formats, such as frame- compatible side-by-side and multi-view video plus depth. Particular emphasis is given to the DVB systems (terrestrial, satellite, and cable) and IP transport, focusing HTTP/TCP streaming, adaptive HTTP streaming, RTP/UDP streaming ...

Smart 3D video coding

2012 3DTV-Conference: The True Vision - Capture, Transmission and Display of 3D Video (3DTV-CON), 2012
In this paper we explore a method to encode/decode multiview textures and associated supplementary data (depth map as an example) together in a single bitstream. Least significant bit (LSB) of last two levels in each transform block has been modified according to the depth encoded bits, thus resulting in very minimal loss in PSNR of textures (0.1 – 0 ...

3D Video Compression

2012
In this chapter, compression methods for 3D video (3DV) are presented. This includes data formats, video and depth compression, evaluation methods, and analysis tools. First, the fundamental principles of video coding for classical 2D video content are reviewed, including signal prediction, quantization, transformation, and entropy coding.

Automatic 3D video detection

2014 International Conference on Information Science, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, 2014
In this paper, we propose a novel and effective method to detect whether a video is 3D Side-by-Side format or not. The proposal extracts features between left and right side of video frames for detection. We firstly obtained the difference between left and right side of video frame and adopted a threshold operation for denoising.
