Abstract Background Non‐invasive imaging‐based assessment of blood flow plays a critical role in evaluating heart function and structure. Computed Tomography (CT) is a widely‐used imaging modality that can robustly evaluate cardiovascular anatomy and function, but direct methods to estimate blood flow velocity from movies of contrast dynamics have not ...

Protein fibrils can be synthesized from both conventional and by‐product protein sources, each having distinct advantages. Stabilization through polysaccharides and polyphenols can enhance fibril functional properties, such as gelling, foaming, and emulsification, thus furthering their application in food and non‐food materials.

3x + 1 Problem. Syracuse Conjecture
In this paper; we prove that all sequences can be broken up in cycles. Each cycle follows the same pattern: 1) Upward trajectory. Odd and even numbers alternate until the cycle reaches an upper bound 2) Downward trajectory. Two or more consecutive even numbers follow until it reaches another odd number.

Machine learning techniques play an important role in analyzing spectral data. Fish biomass spectral data is useful in fish production as it carries key chemical properties of fish meat. However, it is challenging for existing machine learning techniques to comprehensively discover hidden patterns from fish biomass spectral data because the spectral ...

Flow Decomposition by Optimal Balance With Time‐Averaging
Abstract Decomposing oceanic and atmospheric flow fields into their slowly evolving balanced components and fast evolving wave components is essential to study processes like spontaneous or stimulated wave emission. However, a decomposition into the linear geostrophic (slow) and non‐geostrophic (fast) components is often not precise enough to address ...

ABSTRACT The dandelion species Taraxacum kok‐saghyz is a promising new crop for natural rubber production and is currently in the early stages of the breeding process. To support these efforts, the multiplication and conservation of defined genotypes are crucial.

The 3x+1 problem: new lower bounds on nontrivial cycle lengths
The ``Collatz''-problem (or ``\(3x+1\)''- or ``Hasse''- or ``Syracuse''- or ``Kakutani''-problem) is to prove that for every \(n\in\mathbb{N}\) there exists a \(k\) with \(T^{(k)}(n)=1\) where the function \(T(n)\) takes odd numbers \(n\) to \((3n+1)/2\) and even numbers \(n\) to \(n/2\). This conjecture has been verified with a computer at least up to

World Englishes, applied linguistics, and air traffic control communication
Abstract Air traffic control (ATC) communication in international aviation is conducted in a variety often referred to as Aviation English. Based on an analysis of the Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) defined by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), two specialized sub‐registers of Aviation English are identified in previous ...

Some Observations on the 3x+1 Problem
We present some interesting observations on the 3x+1 problem. We propose a new algorithm which eliminates certain steps while we check the action of 3x+1 procedure on a number. Also, we propose a reason why many numbers follow a similar pattern during execution of 3x+1 algorithm.

Cohomogeneity‐one solitons in Laplacian flow: Local, smoothly‐closing and steady solitons
Abstract We initiate a systematic study of cohomogeneity‐one solitons in Bryant's Laplacian flow of closed G2$\text{G}_2$‐structures on a 7‐manifold, motivated by the problem of understanding finite‐time singularities of that flow. Here, we focus on solitons with symmetry groups Sp(2)${\rm Sp}(2)$ and SU(3)${\rm SU}(3)$; in both cases, we prove the ...
