A Universal GaAs HBT PA with Active Bias Circuitry, Covering 4.9-6 GHz

open access: yes, 2005
This paper describes the design, fabrication and measured performance of a 4.9 to 6GHz Power Amplifier IC developed on a commercially available InGaP HBT process. It can address a number of applications including U-NII (US FCC), 802.11a, HiperLAN2, Japanese WLAN and cordless telephony.

A Data‐Driven Threshold for Extreme Hyponatremia in the Emergency Department and Its Association With 28‐Day Mortality

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hyponatremia is a common electrolyte disorder in the emergency department (ED), but its clinical burden is not evenly distributed across the sodium spectrum. We conducted a retrospective observational cohort study of adult ED encounters at a tertiary referral hospital between July 2019 and July 2024 to identify a data‐driven threshold for ...

Synthesis of Microbial‐Derived Octadecanoids

open access: yesLipids, EarlyView.
C18‐carbon containing dietary polyunsaturated fatty acids (e.g., linoleic acid, α‐linolenic acid, and γ‐linolenic acid) are metabolized by bacteria in the gut into oxygenated lipid mediators termed octadecanoids. To study the biological function of these compounds, we report here the chemical synthesis of multiple octadecanoids.

Triple-Band MIMO Antenna for 5 G Terminals

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation
In this work, a triple-band, four-element antenna is designed for fifth-generation (5 G) terminals operating in LTE band 42 (3.4–3.6 GHz), LTE band 43 (3.6–3.8 GHz), and the new 5 G radio band (4.8–5.0 GHz).

Parallel Vector Processing in Optical Computing With Jacobi Time‐Wave Packets

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Functionality of a single neuron and state of the art photonic acceleration with a Mach‐Zehnder‐interferometer (MZI) mesh (i), a crossbar array (ii) and a micro ring resonator (MRR) array (iii). In the proposed Jacobi time‐wave packet approach (iv) a single modulator (here a ring modulator) is performing the whole scalar vector product in a single ...

A milimetre wave phase shifter using a wireless hybrid mode locked laser [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
40 GHz hybrid mode locking is observed using planar antennas to form a wireless connection to the saturable absorber. Electronically controlled phase shift is measured which could enable remote antenna beam steering in future WLAN ...

A Boothby–Wang Construction in Generalized Contact Geometry

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We establish a generalized analogue of the Boothby–Wang theorem in generalized contact geometry, along with related results. We present a general method for constructing examples of generalized contact structures that are not of Poon–Wade type, and even examples that fail to be generalized contact structures.
