Multiband antenna design method using predefined shapes and image segmentation techniques for IoT applications

open access: yesScientific Reports
The development of the internet of things necessitates more compact electronic products. This paper proposes a novel approach: designing a predefined shape to function as a antenna without changing its visual appearance.

Crystallization‐Driven Helical Conjugated Polymer Nanowires for Circularly Polarized Light‐Addressable Ferroelectric Physical Unclonable Functions

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Supramolecular helicity meets ferroelectricity: P3HT‐b‐PMMA helical nanowires enable handedness‐specific modulation of remanent polarization in P(VDF‐TrFE) hybrids. This platform demonstrates the first CPL‐addressable ferroelectric PUF, translating molecular chirality into secure digital authentication.

Tailoring Zn2+ Solvation for Dendrite‐Free and High‐Efficiency Aqueous Zinc Batteries

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A ternary water–methanol–dimethyl sulfoxide hybrid electrolyte reconstructs the Zn2+ solvation sheath by reducing free water activity and promoting coordinated solvent interactions. The regulated interfacial chemistry suppresses parasitic reactions and enables dense, uniform zinc deposition, resulting in enhanced reversibility and long‐term cycling ...

Eutectic Mixtures of Inorganic and Organic Adamantane‐Type Compounds With Strongly Nonlinear Optical Properties

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We report a new concept to lower the melting temperature (Tm) of inorganic‐organic hybrid adamantane‐based cluster compounds by forming unprecedented eutectic cluster mixtures with organic adamantane derivatives. Blending of clusters of the type [(p‐MeC6H4Si(CH2SnPhE)3] (E = S, Se, Te) with (3‐F‐4‐Me‐C6H3)3Ad, (3‐F‐4‐Me‐Ph)4Ad, and (4‐MeO‐C6H4)

Feeding Practices and Welfare of Zoo‐Housed Giraffes (Giraffa camelopardalis) on a Global Scale

open access: yesZoo Biology, EarlyView.
We collected feeding and stereotypy information on 702 giraffes from 146 zoos from all over the world. Less appropriate diets were linked to more oral stereotypies. ABSTRACT Since giraffe feeding practices have only been reported for European and US facilities, this study aimed to achieve a comprehensive overview of the current giraffe feeding ...

Ozone‐driven degradation of sex pheromone in Plutella xylostella: Implications for reproductive communication and mating success

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
In this study, we examined whether realistic ozone concentrations can interfere with sexual communication in the insect pest Plutella xylostella, the diamondback moth. Ozone exposure caused a degradation of pheromone components, leading to significant changes in blend composition and component ratios.

Mind(the)Plant: An expandable multimodal facility for the integrated characterization of plant behaviour

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, EarlyView.
Abstract Understanding plant behaviour requires the integration of multiple phenotypic and physiological signals measured over time under controlled conditions. However, different plant signals are typically studied using separate experimental setups, limiting temporal alignment and integrative analyses.
